Crankstart is a repaint of Dune Runner. There's not to much to say. The colors are cool, and he's now a Decepticon. The Problem with the guns on top of the alt mode pointing inward seems to have been fixed.

The guns can be moved around. I personally like to have them pointing up:

The articulation is pretty good, although somewhat limited in the arms.

    Recommended if you like scouts.

I might not be that big on all the new toys, but this was one that I definitely had to pick up, and I even like Crankstart's look a lot more than his previous incarnations. Now, this isn't to knock anything about Dunerunner or Beachcomber, but Crankstart was & simply is my favorite.

In other words, the mold itself is pretty unique, the transformation is simple but flowing, and both of his modes offer something that's worthy in terms of play & display purposes. I mean, what else can a collector or child look for in a toy? Also for what it's worth, the gray plastic is rather minimal & unlike certain others, it actually fits into his look because of the silver chest & burgundy arms that're more drawing.

However, the one I ended up picking up seemed to suffer in the quality areas, as not only do the guns point toward each other (it's either this or have the arms not fit right in alt mode), but I also had to take his legs apart to debur the holes where his knee & foot screws go, as the excess plastic was preventing the parts from forming correct in vehicle mode. Not a major complaint (I was able to fix this in a few minutes), but just something I noticed along the way, type of deal.
