The promotion is five free android app that gives 200 coins each for a total of 1000 coins. That's $10 worth of apps you can get. Here There is another promotion. Use your recently acquired coins and get "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" for 699 coins and get 2000 bonus coins. Here The free coins is today only and is a promotion by Amazon to promote their appstore. The GTA promotion has been going on for almost a week.
Yup. Before the coin giveaways, I used the Amazon Appstore over Google Play when bonus coins was offered. As an example, I bought "Minecraft - Pocket Edition" on the Appstore for $6.99 and got 350 coins out of it. If you have 699 coins to use and want the game, you get 350 coins back.

Still getting the free coins for those apps, but I am confused, what I can use the coins for? I have a few apps that I can purchase add ons for, but do not seem to see any of those for purchase with coins
When you go to a random app like this, do you have a option that say "Spend Amazon Coins" on the right?
