So, I'm not a big Sixshot guy, but I am a big MMC guy. I'm toying with the idea of ordering TR Sixshot, as I've found the Leader class figures pretty solid lately, but I'm also seeing the prices drop on Hexatron. I imagine if I'm canny, I can grab a Hexatron form the 70-80$ range, a little less than double TR Sixshot but with the great MMC aesthetic & no dumb Headmaster gimmick. But, yaknow, cash.

    CONVINCE ME.

TR has them, too. They're a bit of a mess, but he has them too.

EDIT: You don't have to use the Headmaster gimmick. The head can stay attached permanently, in all modes.

I have Terminus Hexatron Continuum, and he's a great figure with articulation, paint detailing, and plastic quality that Hasbro will never match. I would also argue that most of his vehicle modes are nicer than TR Sixshot's. That said, I have seen pictures of TR Sixshot and he is admittedly tempting. TR Sixshot has much better proportions when compared to Hexatron, a smoother more G1 look, opening cockpits, a few better vehicle modes, and he's much cheaper, at least at retail. Still, a lot of people have been putting their Hexatrons on ebay for cheap of late and I have heard some negative things about TR Sixshot's QC, so it's really up to which one looks better to you. I may consider getting and keeping both.

Go for something high quality and not a headmaster. MMC's is IDW, but has better accessories than the silly TR version.

TR Sixshot way better value, your not a huge fan of the character and he will be 38% to 64% cheaper then Hexatron.

Sixshot. Hexatron is too big, too greebly and I don't consider swords he never even had to be a bonus. Plus, the aesthetic is off for Hexatron. You can COMPLETELY ignore the Headmaster gimmick on Sixshot, hell you could even glue it in.

Hexatron has always looked like a nightmare to pose.

And all of the various Sixshots pretty much look the same. I'm going with the TR purely on cost. It's big, looks like Sixshot. But does he smell... like sixshot?

Can the TR figure do a throne mode? Generally curious. Although I suspect that the figure isn't out yet.

You don't have TR Six Shot, so you don't actually know. Have it in hand and you'll see it's far from silly. It's one of HasTak's best Leader molds. It's up there with ROTF Optimus. It's been a long time since we've had a LC figure this nice. And yes, he does have a gun mode, before anyone says he doesn't. And like I said, the Headmaster gimmick isn't necessary to enjoy the figure, you can leave him in there permanently.

Agreed. For the level of like vs dislike, I'd go affordable, not more expensive.

Even Mindwipe is embarrassed by this shitty phone pic, but it does show how nicely Hexy fits in with the TR line.

Oh, Hexatron's a nice figure, no doubt. I owned it, I liked it, I just didn't have room for two CHUG Six Shots. I'm just thinking about how much more affordable the TR version would be for a person who's not a big fan of the character and just kind of wants to dip his toes in, rather than jumping in.

    Hexatron's definitely jumping in material.

MMC or Clonedroid both are pretty darn good. Hexatron is just a tad better quality wise (paint on V2 ) and an extra ratchet or two than clonedroid. I liked the mold so much I bought all the Hexatrons and all the Clonedroid varients (i.e. recolor and GreatShots). Even picked up the all Black KO one for $20.... The Black KO one was KO poor but functional and looks good on the shelf.

There is also a DX9 and Gcreation one out now. Fan Toys later in the year.

MMC is not show blocky though... it is has style. ^^.

Can't blame you there. If I had known TR was gonna have a sixshot, I don't know that I would've popped for this guy at ~3x the price from PSX. At the same time, it's hard to plunk down 45-50 bucks on a hasbro toy (or even worse, double that for the tak version) with their retail (B&M) presence being sooooo terrible.

It depends. TR Sixshot is a good straight up recreation/update of the G1 figure, while Hexatron kinda does his own thing, at least in terms of aesthetic. If you're like me, and you actually want Transformers that do their own thing, you will love Hexatron. I just love all the crazy shapes on this guy, how expressive he is when posed.

I never said anything about the gun mode. I have a huge collection consisting of most lines excluding RID and bayformers so how would you know I don't have him? I can just assume you only had one third party figure since you said you bought Hexatron and you seem to worry about money.
