They've already got the perfect mold (Netflix BB would just need some very minor retooling for perfect accuracy, and preferably a new head) and they seem to have a good relationship with Disney seeing as they're the main producer of Star Wars and Marvel toys, it seems like a no-brainer for them to at least try to get a license. All the other Collaborative figures they've done have been for anniversaries and/or new movies coming out though. They missed the 50th anniversary of the first movie a coupe years ago unfortunately.
Yeah the main setback here is there's a fairly limited demand for Herbie anything - I think I picked up a 1/64 diecast a while back but the car isn't in the cultural zeitgeist like... the Mystery Machine, say. Nice work, regardless.
I can’t remember what 3rd party I got these from (sorry, no help) It was originally a 3rd party Bug Bite. I just copied some Herbie stickers I found on-line and printed them onto a packing label, then cut and applied. The face was one I found on-line from someone’s drawing of Herbie as an Autobot
