Here's Undercover Sideswipe. A diaclone?? In anycase, it's for one of the board members here. Hope he likes it
wow pretty cool. what specific paints do you use here? what brand? the paint applications are impressive. good work
Tamiya and hobby. They have really good products. The finish is by tamiya's compounds and wax. Here's a picture of it in the sun.
u disassemble the entire toy? ill assume that's a better way of painting. I go straight for the figure. Ive heard of Tamiya, thats Japanese/Korean right?
I HIGHLY recommend disassembly. much cleaner application, much lower need for masking. no risk of over-spray, or in missing hard-to-reach areas.
Hmmm..That's kinda hard to say. Really depends on your working style and how much you are willing to tape. I dont mind taping a lot so I do not unassemble as much as I should.
yeah man heh. Ive had to be EXTREMELY careful in painting them. Im new so Im not savvy on some of the Radicon protocols. Ive recently started customizing. the biggest reason though for me not doing that is there are sometimes too many screws and parts in the figure. right now im repainting TFTM leader OP into The Fallen. the paint apps are coming out awful, but its just too much for me to organize all the pieces. any tips?
cool, shiny and full of bling! you missed a spot though in the headlights, and heh, sabby just got called a dude.
some people screw the screws back into their posts after they've take a part apart, some simply put all the screws and pins into a ziplock baggie. I lay my pieces all out just as if the robot mode was lying on its back, with the screws in their respective posts so I don't have to worry about getting some swapped around and then having the wrong sizes in the wrong areas, for pins or rivets, I just have them laying next to their respective parts.
did that . . . worked out okay for this ONE figure. but right now im a novice. I dont have the patience u guys have
Nope. That spot is underneath the headlights. U can only see it at the side. WHich is fine. Cant really touch that unless I wanna pry open the headlights which have really tight connection points with the car.
lol isn't it? u picture a custom or an idea and you just cant wait for it to be done. right now my brain is salivating and idea I have with TFTM leader Meg's wings to make a sort of "Cybertronian ThunderCracker". good night man, my eyes are drowzy . . .
Excellent work, the blue and silver (and white? not sure from the photos) in robot mode really help break the figure up, and give more of a sense of proportion, much better than just going for an all-black look IMHO. Looks much better than he does in red as well, in fact...
