Woah. That's quite a debate we have going on. Thanks for all the comments though. ABout the arguement of gloss vs matt finishes...I happen to have an idea to incorporate metallics with a dull finish. Not sure which toy to try it on though. But then again, that wont be me..On the day that I get bored with metallics, will only then will I jump into the matte side of things. But till then, I'm doing it my way. Why??? Coz I said so...Muahahah! *evil grin*
I don't know what you guys are going on about. My Classics Sideswipe definitely has a natural sheen to the plastic,as do several of my other figures. So I don't see the need to amply that sheen by using this gloss method. "A little goes a long way." I guess the only moderation around here is board moderation.
Keep creating to express your artistry through your talent and skill. Glad to read that you're not about to compromise this.
I agree. You know that there are people who support you and people who just don't like metallic. You know what camp I'm in.
**Please review moderator's comments above, thanks! ~Radicons Staff** Dull, shiny, metallic, flat...whatever, its up to us to decide how we paint our toys! Theres no "right or wrong" way or look, if there was this hobby would be mind-numbingly boring. Versatility is what makes this game interesting. If you dont like what you see, move on but dont force your opinion about how you think something should look. I dont think there would have been an issue if c16 had just said "not my cup of tea but great craftsmanship" instead of basically saying "this style needs to disappear".
it's a debate that's got good potential but doesn't belong in Sabrina's thread. Some people love it, some don't. Those saying "all transformer cars must be glossy" are equally at fault as C16 is.
Not really since we havnt come out and said something to the effect of: "all sports cars should be shiny, so this matte paint style has to disappear". The whole shiny car thing is just my taste as i prefer that level of reality.
I'm having trouble trying to understand why some excellent work like this (and others) are being so heavily crited and almost attacked, i personaly dont paint my customs like this cause i want them to match the classic line rather than henkei, but come on, that is some seriously great painting whatever your taste is.
Exactly. Ive noticed this happening alot with Sabrina's work lately and i simply dont understand it. In my experiance with her she's a very kind person, she never has a bad thing to say about anybody and she does great work, yet everybody is so quick to put down her art and give her threads pathetic ratings. Lighten up people!
I love good paint regardless of gloss or otherwise. I have as many of autobotx23's customs as I do sabrina's and think they are both great. I agree everyone has their own tastes and it would be rather dull if everything looked the same. I hope sabrina keeps on making her figs her way while others paint in their own style.
I've already posted about keeping things civil, guys. Please review the Radicons FAQ as well as the Radicons Guidelines/Etiquette as these are all supplemental (not suggestive) to TFW2005.com board rules. You are allowed to share your opinions and critiques, of course, but do so in a manner that is helpful to others.
