here are 2 of my latest customs in honor of my 2 favorite G1 jets. i will add more pics as i finish them up. they are both 95% complete. skyfire looks suh-wheet! i added 1/4 inch to the height via leg mod, gave him hyper-extending knees to hold the weight better as well as give anime look, customized the arm armor, and did a forearm/fist mod. the blue paint is metallic too! the shuttle thrusters were made from a RID prowl, uni2 treadbolt thrusters, Henkei Skyfire, and A LOT of epoxy/filing/dremelling/sweating/painting/filing.........................and im still not finished! 8(

thrust is another old fave of mine. as usual, i did not completely like the hasbro paint job. he looks better now.
sorry for the stale poses, i just wanted to get the best angles/lighting for the photos. enjoy! ZedzDead

Very well done. It's almost a perfect match to skyfire.

I think it looks really great. Excellent job. The larger hands give me an Animated vibe. That's the only downside, I can see.

the hands arent too bad in person. i little large but they fit in. after doing this custom, i realized just how awesome a fig this was. i mean, it looks just like jet/skyfire in the dreamwave comics! definately one of my favorite customs. this makes custom jetfire no3 now. i will have to take pics of all of them together and post it in here.

    I love that Skyfire.
Was the knee mod especially difficult? I'd love to get that extra height on my Jetfire.

Recast 1/48 tv hands on henkei Jetfire?
How about using the 1/60 instead?
    It's a tad oversized.

I think I might be the originator of the Jetfire knee-mod, and trust me... if I can do it, anybody can. You really don't need anything more than a hobby knife (and a screwdriver to open the legs of course). It's very easy, but you do have to be precise. Measure your cuts to each leg, otherwise you'll end up with one leg longer than the other. :)

    Zedz,
I think you got even more height out of your knee-jack than I did! Jetfire looks way less stumpy! Even his enormous helmet doesn't look oversized! It's amazing. I guess you added the extra cuff to the forearms, and it looks great.

I'm really impressed how cartoon-accurate this looks, without getting too crazy with the modding on the figure (though you had to construct an all-new backpack unit). It's one of those bashes that I can actually imagine being able to do myself! Brilliant! :)
