At least I think that's what it was, I remember the movie having a synopsis like this. The movie starts on regular earth. It's about to be invaded by evil being from another planet. The planets last hope is a mech (go figure) however the president (secretary of defense? someone highup in the government that's important.) This woman is shot with a poison bullet, by an assasin while a bodyguard (the cockie main character dude) kills the assassin. The woman is put into a deep coma by an "infection" and the only way to treat is to send someone who knows how to pilot the mech into her bloodstream. The cocky dude just happens to be that guy. They shrink and tell him he has until the invading army arrive to eliminate the virus. They also send in a mech piloted by a humanoid robot. They get into a fight with the infection which turns out to be a complete race of people that have their own mechs lead some random chick. The movie goes on from there with th cocky dude exploring the microscopic world. Any idea what movie this is? I would like to know so I can find it again cause when I was a kid it was hella entertaining to watch. Thanks guys.
Remember any other details? Names, shouted attacks, etc? Heck, where are you located? It might not have played in many places.
We're talking early 90's. I had the movie on VHS, so didn't see it in theatre. I remember the Mechs transforming like Power Ranger styled bots, One piece was the head, another the torso and arms and the last the legs. They were really blocky too. Also I know it was Japanese cause I remember the art style being similar to Sailor Moon or Robotech, and the dubbing sucked.
Yes! That's the one! Thanks guys (espescially tfrocks and mechadoom), threads over unless you wanna discuss the awsomeness that is diatron-5. But I need to find this on dvd, anybody point me in the right direction?
You know those $1 DVD bins that Target and the various dollar stores have? That's where I got my copy. Its actually early 80's at the most. Actually, if you want mine, PM your name & address and I'll send it to you. Its really BAD. REALLY REALLY BAD. And this comes from someone who likes Leiji Matsumoto's animes with their weirdass ideas of space and physics. --Moony
