So I was reading the post with the interview of the Artist guy and he mentioned that the original Shock Wave was blessed with a 'erect' trigger. After reading this I thought, 'yeah that is funny how they made them all look like they have a hard o... what a minute, the Shock Wave that I had totally had an 'erect' trigger!!!' So I looked through box of only G1 figs that I had in storage and sure enough, there he was in all his excited glory. Now he is pretty rough shape, ( I actually used him as a gun from role play etc.) and has very little in markings, but I think he could be the original Japanese release or a KO. He wasn't new when I got him, so if is hard to say. Also no deceptican decals at all. The only feature that may give some insight is a sticker on the back switch that says 'Vulcan' or 'Magnum' and it would switch the sound of the gun fire. Any help would be appreciated and sorry no pics as camera is broken, just picture Shock Waver with a big boner.
Dumb question here, but is he purple? Radio shack sold a grey version of Shockwave. Is this your guy? See pic D
the grey shackwave is actually really really cool (as is the black and red omega supreme). but the awesomeness of inspector gadget with cloth coat eclipse both of them.
Not a stupid question at all. The color is kind of grey, more so then purple. I just always though it was a factory error that all Shock Waves had. I guess I can just pretend that it is Shock Waves cousin from out west. He is more liberal minded and not afraid to show what he has got. Funny enough, I also had that transforming watch in black. Thank-you so much TC, that's awesome. Btw, why do you have a pic of the radio shack catalogue from 1985?
Oh Ver-Bot, I remember you. You were so much fun until I left you lying against that hot lightbulb, and your head dome melted. Good times.
Dang internet, so full of info. Look at the price $19.99, thats a lot for '85. How much was the G1 version?
Damn Tiamat is only 19.99. He goes for well over 200 now for a MIB. I have one loose to go along with my D&D cartoon PVCs.
I think that is about right, Sound Wave was around 19.99 too. Perhaps equivalent to today’s leader class?
Roughly equivalent to Leader or Ultra class. Using today's classifications, I'd put Shockwave and Jetfire in Leader, Soundwave and Blaster in Ultra.
I have that grey one, but mine is the KO. It has the red translusent pieces instead of clear. But he is in great shape and also got the box and instructions with him.
ha ha ha, i love people using my pics, unlike most people i have no probs with it it means it's a popular page! Glad it gets used a lot on the boards, it makes the time i put in to it worth it. as for shocky there were several versions: http://www.tfans.com/talk/index.php?showtopic=30363 check post 15 for some of the versions
Wow - blast from the past! In ye olde days before even TFs had launched I used to have a robot figure that was clearly a cheap KO of that red Gardian (image B) - it was called Galaxy Defender or something similar...
