I own the MP 11 Thundercracker. At first I was against getting all three Seekers but just recently, I ordered Maketoys Starscream (due to very positive reviews) which is yet to arrive. The differences totally justify the purchase.

Now I feel like not having Skywarp just will not do! However I don't feel good about buying an exact copy of a mold.

So what should I do? I think it would be really cool if there was a 3rd mold in scale with the rest that could be my Skywarp. I thought maybe I'll get rid of the Thundercracker when I first purchased MT Starscream. I also think maybe I'll keep the two and wait for another Seeker mold to he introduced by another company in the future. Maybe even of it's a tetra jet... ugh...

The best Skywarp is still Takara MP06 Skywarp, and it's slightly different mold than MP 11 Thundercrack.

It has the best paint, probably in transformer history...the jet mode surpass all existing seekers.

That is very tempting. The thought of buying the worst bot version may haunt me in my dreams. Then again it might serve as a narrative of growth in the mold. Interesting... very interesting. I should watch some reviews.

This would've been my vote if the OP weren't asking about third party options. This is my current Skywarp, though I bought a repro MP-11 head to improve the look in robot mode. I bought him when he first came out and never applied the stickers, I just couldn't marre that beautiful jet mode. Pictures later...if I remember.

I went with Walmart Skywarp, MP-11 Thundercracker and Maketoys Howling Meteor. I like how they look kinda the same in fighter mode but have enough differences in bot mode so they don't look like triplets/clones.

I saw some good prices for the Walmart version and then I see the crazy prices for Takara's version but what you get is a much better looking seeker. I'm gonna have to sit back and think really hard about this.

If they didn’t say, “in scale with the rest,” I would’ve recommended the robot hero OS’d skywarp, as it’s improved and can be gotten on sale for ~$80. Oh lookie there, there is no ‘would have,’ as I just did.

I am in the same dilemma, as in I need 1 mp g1 seeker for my decepticon shelf... well, that and or an mp shockwave, but the official mp plus one is sooo damn expensive.

You cant have 3 versions of the seekers stood next to each other on a cohesive shelf. The sensible choice is Maketoys for bots, Takara (or KO if you must) repurposed as jets.

While pondering the idea of buying a Takara MP06 Skywarp, came up with an idea of how I would display them in robot mode.

I could label them the good the bad the ugly (maketoys Starscream, MP-11 Thundercracker, MP-06 Skywarp) respectively.

A Skywarp that is the same size as Meteor and MP-11 Thundercracker and a different mould.

The Galaxy Meteor is indeed an option. It's the same size, but it is very different and the altmode is...something. I think I would seriously hesitate with putting that next to the other two.

I agree with @xueyue2 that MP-06 Skywarp is the absolute best looking. Almost perfect jetmode, beautiful finish thanks to a gloss cote over the plastic (gives it a sparkle), he's got better feet than MP-11, and the robotmode is instantly recognisable as a G1 seeker, it fits with the other two (albeit more sleek) while still being different enough to nt be the same.

The downside of MP-06 is that the winghinges are problematic: the connecting piece is either too long or too angular resulting in putting stress on the thin joint everytime he's transformed. A second downside is that part of the jet (Tailwings and stuff) hangs from the hips (which is on his legs with the MP-11 mould), which causes imbalance. (You can pop them off, put the figure in an A-stance and mount them on the hips, or customise them to slide up and down.)

A third option is iGear. Prior to MP-11 iGear released a bunch of improved KO's of the MP-3 mould. It doesn't have the issue with the wing hinge and the jet kibble is on a slider on the lower legs. In several ways it's a better mould than both MP-11 and MP-03. Downside is that he lacks the nice finnish and the plastic can be a bit soft.

That's a good candidate. Soft plastic scares me a little. Price is pretty steep for a KO. What's up with that?

Depends if you want to buy now or are willing to be a little patient?
If you want theee distinct moulds but stay G1, you really don’t have many options. MP-06 is a little different but still basically the same as MP-11.
    Another option:
    4D414974-BDBD-4721-9EE8-EC23CB404F87.jpeg
Originally designed by Toyworld, this prototype was spotted in late 2017 at SDCC displayed by Zeta Toys next to their Bruticus. No word on if they will ever release it but it seems like they now own the design.
    Option two:
    74BEB284-EB36-43FD-A705-651E5FF4BFCB.jpeg
Takara’s growing tendency to redo older designs and their inclusion of a new Starscream head with MP-44 is at least a possible indicator that Takara will revisit the Seekers (again) and this time give us an entirely new and unique mould. Multiple Seekers and Rainmaker repaints make the F-15 design a wet dream for companies like Takara who will happily milk a mould beyond the point of insanity.

Neither of those are guarantees of course but a new Seeker from Takara seems reasonably likely in the current climate. Zeta’s could drop at any time if they think a market is there for a new Seeker.
If you really want theee Unique Seekers, maybe give it a year or two and see what shakes out.
For me? MP-11 should be melted in acid, MP-03, 06 and 07 are even worse and it’s Maketoys all the way.
