So I got a nice chunk of change this Christmas and I'm looking to spend it on some third party MP's but I'm having trouble narrowing it down. I am looking to get a combination of the following.

    Stomp
    Boost and Hatch
    Cupola
    Iron will
    Lupus

I'm leaning towards Stomp + boost and hatch but the headmasters are looking good to me as well. Which combination of figures would you guys bet if you were me?

I've been told by many people that Stomp is pretty good, but I'm personally not into what Fans Toys is selling.

Boost is probably your only option for Windcharger, so get him if you want him, but be aware that his transformation is fiddly and seems to involve forcing parts around other parts. Not sure why you'd want Hatch, though. Can't recall Tailgate really being in TF fiction until IDW, and Hatch isn't IDW Tailgate, he's white Windcharger with toy head Tailgate.

Cupola and Iron Will are supposed to be pretty good. I don't have either, but I have several other Maketoys figures, and their stuff is pretty solid. Although their bit sizes are apparently accurately scaled with MP-10's, it really bugs me that Cupola's car mode is huge compared to the Takara MP cars.

Again, Fans Toys isn't my jam, but Lupus looks pretty good... in bot mode. If I'm being honest, if have preferred a more stylized, more menacing wolf head (although FT's is pretty Headmasters accurate). Multiple reviewers have also pointed out that the wolf's back is loose and has a tendency to collapse into the torso in bot mode.

If it was my money, I guess Cupola, Iron Will, and Boost. But if you take out my personal disinterest in FT, either add Stomp to that list, or replace figures on that list with Stomp as your budget demands.

Not liking the Iron Dibots is cray cray. Not being a Fanstoys fanboy is one thing but those sobs are solid and worth the money

I would go Stomp and Lupus. I have them already as well as Boost. Stomp is the obvious pick, but Lupus is great despite the plain look and other people having issues with the cockpit staying in place. My Lupus is fine. Boost has a fiddly transformation and I don't like to transform him. I never had a chance to handle Iron Will and Cupola but I hear good things about them.

Lupus pics don't do it justice. That wolf is HUGE!!! Best value especially if you're smart and get it for $100.

I'd go stomp now, and FT sovereign in 2 weeks. He ships on the 4th and will be out at retailers by the 10th. Brandon from the chosen prime said he might be the best figure he's ever put his hands on ever.

Saw a couple of guys on here saying they scored one off of eBay and these Facebook sellers who deal direct with the Chinese. Gotta do legwork.

    I'd advise against all XTB.

Just buy Stomp and Lupus- Fanstoys are the best 3P toys.

Or or ... hear me out on this one:

Start up a MP-IDW collection (if you're all about the MP size).

G-Creation's new "GDW" line looks to be all MP-IDW based. Very very good looking and handsome figures.

Their Optimus Prime/Orion Pax will be releasing in January.

I don't really do MPs, I'm more of a combiner guy. The MPs I do have are basically car bots, because they're about the same size as most combiner limb bots. FT's Dinobots (and Gigapower's) are too big. If I bought anything FT, it'd have to be Willis or smaller (and not actually Willis, as I went with the toy-colored Gundog).

Unpopular opinion, but when I get around to doing Dinobots they'll either be GCreation or ToyWorld, because I'm one of those nutcases that likes a Dinobot combiner.

    Stomp and lupus

    Or

    Stomp and cupola

Should be your 2 best options.

You could go lupus / cupola / ironwill for the headmaster trio, but you will miss out on stomp, which would be a loss

The Toyworld versions are great for a small G1 scale. But Swoop's and Gridlock's alt mode are kind of dumb (and that's being nice). I never combined mine, lol.

I thought about Chigurh for awhile but I'm not a big fan of DX9's take. I was hoping someone else would do him

If anyone who got lupus for 100 bones is reading his DM me please

I've seen that optimus Prime and I am in love with it. I'm also really digging the MMC reformatted line but I have to draw a line somewhere. For the sake of my wallet and shelf space My main focus is G1 and BW. Again they are great looking figures but I'm not sure I want to go down that rabbit hole. My collection has to have an endpoint eventually.
