Help me build these i'm so out of the loop. what does it take to build both of these? Thanks thanks Insecticon for the pic
Well what it takes is owning the Target exclusive aerielbots and the Fansproject add-ons and then the add-on from Fans project for the other but also getting the Target exclusive figure set as well which I can't remember the name to.
ok i think i got this.... so the left one is the target exclusive superion. but with one add on? the right one i need target exclusive bruticus maximus with
The one on the left (accessory set) is the TFSource exclusive "Snowman" Version, while the one on the right is the normal Crossfire - 01 set.
@friendfortf There are three releases of these combiners, Superion Maximus and Bruticus Maximus. Energon, RotF and Universe (G1 series). The two latter are identical save for packaging. The Crossfire XF-02A/B set is designed for the newer release of Bruticus (accessories match Onslaughts colours better), but some use the energon Barricade as Onslaught, since colourwise he more closely resembles G1 Onslaught.
OK, for your fist picture at the top, you will need the Target exclusive RotF Superion Maximus set OR Universe Superion Maximus (released outside US), as well as the Fansproject Crossfire-01 set. For the Bruticus, you will need either Target exclusive RotF Bruticus Maximus OR Universe Bruticus Maximus (released outside US) and the recently released Fansproject Crossfire-02A and Fansproject Crossfire-02B sets. For the Colorful Superion in the 2nd picture, you will need the Energon release of Superion Maximus as well as the TFSource exclusive Fansproject "Snow-man" version Crossfire-01 set. Got it?
I'll tell you what you'll need, LOTS of money. The snowman kit for Superion is going for $hundreds these days! Which is a damn shame because it looks sooooo beautiful with the Energon Superion.
As well as the original toys you'll want the accessory sets. Bruticus should be easy, he's just come out so you can get them at the original cost. Superion was about 18 months ago so you might have a job. For Bruticus, the set names you want are Crossfire Munitioner (Swindle set) and Crossfire Explorer (Blast Off set). BBTS, TFSource and Kapow Toys should all be getting theirs in stock soon if they've not done so already. For Superion, you want the Aerial Team Appendage Add-On Set. The white one is the Aerial Team Appendage (Snowman Version) and was a TFSource exclusive. They are both out of stock on most sites now so your best bet would be the Junkion Exchange, if you luck out you might find someone selling the add-ons with the Superion as well, but expect to pay in the region of $150 for the whole package if not a bit more.
I paid $45 for my set from BBTS. The Snowman version from TFSource was quite a bit more and is limited to only 500 pieces as their 2009 Stocking Stuffer Campaign item.
The only difference is the packaging. The ROTF packaging is for North America release. The Universe 2.0 packaging is for the rest of the world.
i live in Hong kong and i recently paid about 1400HKD(180USD) for the bruticus + FPs Crossfire set. i suggest you grab the FP crossfire set now while the prices are still low. as for superion, he is still quite cheap and widely avaible. as for the add on, may be hope that FP will re-issue in the near future.
