Hey everyone, A friend wants me to create a repainted MP-10 Optimus (bot mode only) that has Macross-style wings on the back, as a detachable jetpack. The idea is that the whole bot is painted in blue/white like her boyfriends plane. Cool idea, but I'm having trouble finding articulated plane-wings that would be in scale with the MP-10. Most reviews I've read say MP-10 Optimus is "about" 10 inches tall, so if the wings are on the back, and the tips are near the knees... I guess the wings can be a max. of 6" long? I'd love to use Yamato Macross Valkeyie wings for this project, but the cost on one of those figures is $150+. That, and I'd cry chopping one up just for the wings. Perhaps specific model plane kits that would be close to that scale could be cheaper? Can anyone suggest a set of wings that would look good on an MP-10? Think Jetfire's articulated/streamlined winged 'backback'. Also, if anyone has a TF Voyager Jetfire AND a MP-10 Optimus handy, could I get a snapshot of them together? I'm thinking I might be able to combine those two. Either that, or a shot of an Original G1 Jetfire and MP-10 from the back? Thanks! -Blayne
See the section on 1/48 scale aircraft. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/creat...n/665042-customs-scale-reference-101-a-2.html Being that Skywarp is scaled to MP-10, your best bet would be either the 1/48 Tornado or if you need to go larger, the F-14 Tomcat.
Humm. I found this image online - I think a G1 Jetfire's wings/backpack would work pretty well on an MP-10 with some magnets/modification.
