Hello, just introducing myself. I have recently begun collecting after stumbling upon Combine Wars Prowl while looking at toys with my daughter. Prowl was my first Transformer, I was 10 years old when I got him as a reward for finishing my youth bowling league season. My parents took me to the mall, and I recall wanting to find something else, it may have been Sideswipe but the only one was Prowl. Needless to say it started my love for Transformers that saw me having nearly every G1 figure that would be commonly be available in Virginia Beach in the 1980's. Somewhere along the way to full fledged adulthood my collection dwindled, disappeared if not outright evaporated because just like I struggle to recall when I acquired the ones I had, something my memory is aided by spending hours online reminiscing, I also can't recall how I lost them. I decided the exercise is pointless and resolved to collect again and in the process relive the excitement I had as child collecting Transformers.

I was able to get into collecting again about halfway through Combine Wars and really enjoyed what I was able to acquire. When Titan's Return was announced and first looks became available I wasn't sure I would be enthusiastic enough to stay with it but my concerns were short lived and I can't get enough. Despite the common complaints of the head masters being loose in places as well as the joints of the some of the models I am really pleased with the line. I will say that as it was among my favorite G1's and I just received it in the mail today, Kickback is close to being my favorite of TR Legends. I love the little guy. I am totally digging Blaster as well and am looking forward to getting Perceptor and Broadside. I hope to learn more about the collecting aspect of Transformer and am looking forward to engaging in discussions. I live in Owensboro Kentucky and can tell there must be other collectors as they do not last long on store shelves here, particularly that it's a small town.

    Welcome aboard and welcome back!

I'm really enjoying our current goldmine of awesome toys, Combiner Wars was exactly the thing I always wanted as a kid. I never liked Headmasters, but for whatever reason the Titans Returns just really click for me.

If prowl was your first G1 figure you'll love the MP version. It's what we all really wanted in 84.

Be sure you get the KO ver since they typically comes with accessories that should have came with the original. Plus the KO is much much cheaper with identical QC (some even better QC than original I.e., Tracks) and in some cars has rubber tires.

Welcome back to TF collecting! I had a similar story when I got back into it a few years ago! Huge fan as a kid, then dropped off as video games and comics became more interesting. Finally got back into it after buying a G1 Skywarp, and am loving it! Be careful with MPs! They are like crack...

I was going to ask about that, thank you. I looked at the KO version a few times and I have been thinking about getting it soon.

Thank you, yes I can see how MP's can lure you in. Even with the current and recent lines I can't believe how many I have accumulated in less than year. I think I got the CW Prowl in April 2016 and have managed to acquire the bulk of Combine Wars and I'm keeping pace with Titans Return. Thankfully my wife see's it a harmless hobby, so far. :)

There are people who say that the KOs are just as good as the real ones, but its just not true. Things won't line up right, the paint will have issues, etc. That said, they are very inexpensive so feel free to start with them. If you're patient they'll be almost as good as the real thing. Some of the real ones go on sale pretty cheap, too, so keep that in mind as you build your collection.

Welcome back to collecting! I think you picked a great time to get back into TFs, because the Combiner Wars and Titans Return lines are really scratching that G1 nostalgia itch. But as others have said, if you want the ultimate G1 nostalgia wallow, Masterpiece should be your thing. Just be warned, you might find yourself spending a lot of money in a very short time... :D

Wow, great picture! I never get enough of MPs posed with their G1 counterparts, seeing that evolution is really cool. The Datsun mold just might be my favorite MP mold (but ask me again in a week, and I might say something different!)
