If anyone from the 3rd party companies is out there and reads these boards (igear I'm looking directly at you) We need new heads for Henkei/Universe Classics Sideswipe and Generations Classics Red Alert.

This mold put me off for the longest time. They're GREAT figures but the headsculpt I.E. the face is horrible.

The giant Jimmy Durante, Gonzo, Toucan Sam nose on this mold is awful and stopped me from buying Sideswipe for the longest time.

Red Alert could use the same treatment but in more G1-accurate red.

So, if any figure has a fugly head it's the Sidswipe/Red Alert mold and absolutely deserves the Kup 01 and Kup 02 treatment.

Who's with me? Who's against me? Why?

 

I'm all for it sideswipe to me is all about being brash (war for cybertron) and pimpin the regular head is to sad

 

Venksta already did a Red Alert head. Go see his Renderform thread. I think he also said he might be doing a Sideswipe one.

His Red Alert head is no longer available. I already contacted him a while ago. We need new heads for Red Alert and Sideswipe that are more readily available like Kup 01 and Kup 02 were/are.

Plus, no offense to Vensta but, his Red Alert head looks too much like Cliffjumper IMO.

 

Fair enough. I actually want another company to do a Cliffjumper head though...I don't really like the Beelzeboss one though I may jump on it anyway since it's the only option that isn't uberly expensive.

 

seconded the demand for these heads. just because (respectfully) venksta produced a limited amount that you can't get anymore doesn't mean there's no more demand. see: the current 3rd part Devy and minibot madness.

It's red and has horns, but the silhouette isn't there.

I'm all up for new heads for those 2 cats, the Venksta Red Alert was very limited. I think what the OP is referring to is having a massive release just like Igear did with Kup. That's what we need! I could never jump the gun on Venksta stuff and I personally tried to contact him about an item and didn't get a response at all from it. One can only pray..haha

 

I generally think there's some money being left on the table by third parties not making largish runs of low-cost heads and guns. Renderform is great, but a little pricy for what it is. The way I see it, that limits the amount of people it would appeal to.. which limits the amount of profit they can make.. which limits the size of their runs, which raises costs and hugely reduces availability.

Obviously I don't know if iGear's making a great profit, but their Kup heads seem to have been pretty successful and are still available. I'm totally behind multiple characters getting the same treatment.

Its almost absolutely true that Hasbro won't be touching classics red alert again, for a while.
As for other 3rd parties? It'd be nice if they did one BUT for MYSELF, renderform is the best one. I like Ven's classics styling. I'd RATHER 3rd party look into doing other heads.

 

I have a Venksta Red Alert head. I am very pleased with it. It is good to have a head difference with Sideswipe. It looks more like Red Alert, not Cliffjumper.

I would like to see remade head for Prowl, Smokescreen and Bluestreak. Something with a ball joint.

Nothing. The OP just wants to Michael Jackson the nose and didn't pick up Henkei Alert so his has a black head instead of red.

 

I have been trying to get a shoulder launcher and head (mainly head) sorted for sideswipe forever. His stock head is fuglyer ther fugly. I love the mold and the right head really sets it off. We definately need one!
