Everyone loves Scandinavian Porn, or Scorn for short. Here is my custom painted Scorn, done in about 2 hours of reckless fun painting alongside my oldest daughter who was painting her spinny-flip-change Grimlock toy. We both got paint on our fingers but our tawys came out pretty neato. Good times! Maybe I'll toss a pic of her Grimlock in here too later.
After seeing the new TV spot that shows Scorn, I have already added a red stripe fade down his back and blue eyes! He'll have to do without the 3 sets of spines.
Really I was just guessing on his movie colors. I assumed he'd be mostly worn metal colored like grimlock, but possibly with some red here and there is the toy had any truth to its colors at all. Plus the old Dinobots were silver, red, and black so it seemed like a safe enough choice. I have since added the red on top seen in the brief glimpse of him in the new TV spot, and changed his eyes to blue. I'm sure I'm off on accurate bot mode colors but this might be fairly close to dino colors. If not, its closer than it was out of the package!
This is really beautifully done, and in 2 hours? Brilliant! Love the rib details picked out in muted red in bot mode and the faded red stripe in alt mode. What paints did you use? How's the rubbery plastic take it?
I used Tamiya black and model masters silver acrylics for the tail but the rest was done in enamels over a fusion spray base coat. Same stuff I usually use and it is quite sturdy.
