you probably all know where this is going the tracks road rage mold. since their entire paint budget gets wasted on covering up clear plastic. When Hasbro/Takara could have just mold offending section in regular plastic and painted in the windscreen to match the Faux ceast, and possibly painted some of the Minor Details like the tail lights.

which let's be honest clear plastic shouldn't be used on the autobot cars anyway since there's nothing to see in the interior to begin with aside from folded up parts. clear plastic should only be used on jet formers where an actual seat is visible.

I do agree that Hasbro should stop the practice and return to just using the same plastic across the figure, but I'm not a fan of the non-transparent parts that SHOULD be as such (windshield and such).

Older figures managed to have a small transparent second piece inserted and the company didn't explode into bankruptcy then, no reason they can't get back to that... it makes the figures looks much better, it's pennies worth of effort to do it, I just wish that Hasbro would lessen the penny pinching practices that lessens their products.

Yeah I'm not a fan of opaque windows. Makes the figs look too toy-ish and even more cheap than using clear for more of the car.

No I'd say it's the opposite using clear plastic as a sign of being cheap Hasbro/Takara are undoubtedly well aware that Clear plastic can hold up to stress over time but still continue to use it.

I'm more scared of how I'm forcing the clear plastic to tab in for car mode with Tracks. Something's gonna break eventually...

I'm in the clear window gang. I'd rather they crack open their dusty wallet and pay the 2 cents more for more apps.

My problem with the Tracks mold is the fake chest. The real cabin is in the right spot to sit on the chest with maybe a double hinge or something to get it in the ideal position. The fake chest and all that is unnecessary anyway. I like the clear windows on cars, but it is pretty lame that they couldn’t even do the flame decal correctly (presumably) because of the paint budget.

Blame people wanting their toys to be anime accurate.

While I do like clear windows, having a sturdy toy is worth the sacrifice. The paint apps can go into the windows which take less space than if it was used for the body.

I like what kingdom Huffer has, just a clear plastic insert that you won't worry about breaking and no money for paint being used on it

Another thing to consider is efficient usage of existing toolings. It's not cost-efficient to have one single piece made of clear plastic and nothing else. That would just be a waste of available space on the tooling. And so other pieces will get made of clear plastic as well.

And sometimes those are parts for which there is no space available on any of the other existing toolings.

the kingdom Huffer and pipes mold is one of the few smart used to clear plastic in the earthrise/Kingdom line since it's contained within regular plastic. the Hoist and trailbreaker mold also waste a lot of paint the Hoist and trailbreaker mold also waste a lot of paint.

Various TF toys, including recent ones, show that it's possible to limit the transparent plastic to windows and other intentionally transparent parts of the toy. To me, I think the main issue is in design, and even if transparent plastic is painted over and used for body panels and the like, they should do their best to keep it out of joints and areas that have stress applied to them during transformation or other normal use.

The grapple / infernal mold as well as the Huffer / pipes mold Are pretty much the best examples of how to use clear plastic and not compromise your figure.

Yes, I think it’s great. I would like the Kingdom one as much if it had some changes though, since it definitely has the potential to be on par with the MPs. On a side note, the RTS era’s creativity would be nice to see again. While I appreciate the accuracy and functionality of the newer stuff, it would be nice to have something like Transformers Cybertron that would fit in with the G1-inspired lines but add some aesthetic variety.
