My brother never got a box when his Xbox died, he just printed off some label and put on a box he took from work. I thought you always had to provide your own box? :shrugs:

Sounds like a good idea, you don't have to wait to get the box and like they said, it makes the process faster. I mean, a box really won't cost you too much, right? Like 3 dollars?

Ign said this only started recently but i sent mine off months ago an had to box it myself, its not exactly a big deal or anything but once again involves Ign being horribly slow at picking things up

not a big deal but at least now people dont have to complain about waiting to get the box to send it in. The day it breaks, you request a repair, and send it in (could be all in the same day too)

....but it is also $2 of your own money you have to use now. that's like one hooker in some parts of the world :lol

Speed is more important than a completely insignificant cost.

Used my own box and printed a label the last time I sent my 360 in and it wasn't any trouble......or shouldn't have been if the damn customer service rep told me to log out of my account before trying to get the label.

But besides that, there's really no effort into doing this. Hell, you get it back in a box MADE to fit a 360! Perfect to recycle for any other time!

Just had to send mine back recently, and when I asked about getting a box sent to me the woman on the phone said they'll still do that if you specifically request it. Really didn't mind using my own box and printing out the label though since I got my box back in two weeks rather than the month it took last time.

I thought Microsoft had stopped sending the coffin a long time ago.
    Like it matters either way.

    You're renting your Xbox?

That seems painful. I've only rented a console once, just to check it out.

I haven't rented a console in years. I didn't know you could still do that, I thought it was something they stopped doing. I guess not! You learn something new every day!
