Am I the only person who liked the original ROTF head? Headrobots' version is cool, but I'm sticking with the original head on mines. The swords are still worth the price as they fit snugly on his hand as well as inside the turret. The turret nozzle on mine is not tight, but its not loose as well.

This is only $18? Might pick it up eventually.

I like the default head too. I like the Noh mask one even better however. The G1 inspired head is nice but it desperately needs a wash to bring out the details of the skull.

I love the RotF head. This replacement head is fantastic...but the original is fantastiker. I'm all about the swords. They could have ditched the head and doubled the price, and I still would have gotten it.

I'm not that crazy about g1 Bludgeon's Skullface. I like the alternate head better.

Once you use this kit or open up the the ROTF head, you'll note a tragic decision:

There is a separate piece for lightpiping that went unused. :banghead:

Yeah what was up with that? I know Darkov was making a light pipe kit in clear red for a while.

I agree, I think the aesthetic of the original head makes more sense with the rest of the figure. With the alien techno-organic look of points like the toes and especially that chest, an organic human skull with red eyes and a samurai helmet looks rather out-of-place to me. I think the entire piece relies upon reinterpretation of lifeforms (or decayed lifeforms as it were) through a bio-machine aesthetic, and the head kit skips the interpretation step, leaving that simple white skull appearing underworked and under-designed. The chromed swords on the other hand, make a world of difference and are just the flare this figure needed.

Looking at the figure, lightpiping piece or not, you wouldn't get anything from it. The head is up against the turret, so not enough light would get in to count for anything.

Got mine yesterday, had a little trouble getting the old bludgeon head off, but after that the kit fit nicely.

I like how I don't have to remove the full piece in order to switch faces. Really nice feature there.

The swords feel nice and durable, and the chrome sheen so far still packs a luster.

I do wonder if they are considering a recolor for Banzai-Tron...

Got my HeadRobots Blood kit today, very cool. Totally kicks this figure up a notch. And yes the swords are pointy as hell.

I just received mines yesterday, and after clipping it on, the head is very loose. It's almost bobble head like. Anyone else experiencing this? I' am thinking of adding a dab of glue to the peg on the body to help stabilize it, but Kind of bummed that I have to resort to that.

Mine was like that too at first, but after I kept messing with the rotating head gimmick, somehow the helmet fits snug now, and won't bobble around like it did originally. I'd try positioning the helmet, even thought that in it of itself sounds obscure.

...No telling if it will happen again though...

Yeah, Quixote_Prime quit all things Transformers in early January. Unfortunately he decided to destroy all of his photobucket images as part of that, which means there are a number of threads he started that no longer have their associated images. It would be nice if a mod could go through and edit his posts as I'm guessing some/all of the original images are attached to the news story -- assuming this one was front-paged.
