hello all, i have a question. might not belong in this section (sorry if its not) but its the closest fit. i was looking for the headmasters/ masterforce/ victory dvds on ebay, the shout factory english subtitles sets. i came across these:

is this a new set? does anyone have any firsthand information on these? a couple sellers have the set, the majority list it as an english dub. is this the "so bad its good" dub? any info would be appreciated, thanks

 

I haven't seen that one before now.

But anytime I see "Region: All" and Autobot and Decepticon symbols with EYEBALLS in them, I get skeptical. Just saying.

Maybe it's legit. If you get it, please let us all know how the quality is  

 

Honestly your best bet is to go through walmart.com and do site-to-store which eliminates any shipping costs. Any official dub that's ever been done has been horrible, such as calling characters "ROADimus Prime, or BILLY instead of Blaster'. Shout Factory didn't choose to dub it, so the releases there are only subs, which in my opinion are still far superior to the others. I have the Shout Factory sets myself and am quite satisfied. I've not had one problem.

 

Yea ive heard stories about these dubs but this set looked new so i was wondering. I checkdd amazon for any reviews but couldnt find any. And they all say they are coming out of malaysia so i dont think walmart will be any help

 

I might be getting the Japanese G1 Transformers DVD set from the Shout Factory. I doubt it'll be an English Dub unless it's that weird one where for some reason Blaster's name is Billy but I guess that's the closest thing we'll ever get to a proper English Dub. I kinda want to check it out even if the characters don't use their proper English names it's still better than reading sub titles.
