I don't know the name but those are set in the modern dc comic books.

    What I see looks decent.

    The transformation looks cool.

Trap Jaw doesn't seem to his have jaw, yet.

Evil-Lyn looks like a resentful power-hungry teenager who wants to be worth something, similar enough to Catra from the new She-Ra show.

The more I see of the cartoon, the more I like it.

I know people either like or dislike the art direction, specifically the more exaggerated proportions that have people saying He-Man looks like Mr. Incredible, which I don't dislike or love, but I like the detail put into the 3D environments. I often find CG cartoons to be flatter and this has more depth.

I do like the characterizations so far. I really like Adam's wit and the way that he is taken aback when first transformed into He-Man.

It's too bad that this cartoon has rubbed some adult fans the wrong way but I'm glad that kids have their own MotU to hopefully remember fondly in a couple of decades.

For any criticisms I have of this cartoon, it seems they're doing more "right" than "wrong".

I'm curious how the world building will work itself out. Will this be another sword and sorcery setting with a proper kingdom and royalty? What's the deal with the bad guys?

    I'm with you!

I'm very interested in seeing this new take on the lore of MotU. I definitely hope to see some good character exploration with the antagonists.

I think it would be interesting if Skeletor is lying about being "Keldor", especially if Adam isn't a prince or is a prince in hiding. Imagine if it's a swerve, an attempt to deceive Adam into surrendering the Power Sword.

For my part, what could the new character be that would fit the title "Master of Demolition"? It's a broad title, and largely can be associated with basically anything to do with wrecking things - being a bruiser, someone who blows something up, etc. - and there's really no shortage of those types in MOTU. I absolutely agree with what you're saying with the last part, but I also think there's plenty of merit to the concept here. I find it interesting that they're emphasizing the "ram" via her transformed state - she has robotic, goat-like legs. Which makes for a cool update to the spring-loaded legs of the original Ram Man. :2c:

You make good points and I'm definitely receptive to having my mind changed, especially if the character turns out to be more than my initial perception of the concept.

If the "Ram" part of her name is a play on the dual meaning of the word, giving a nod to Ram Man as well as using the animal meaning for this character, then I'm much more happy with that than a simple gender swapping.

Ultimately, I'm only speculating with limited knowledge of the show. We'll get to see what it delivers in two weeks!

That entire clip made me smile, actually. Now I'm looking forward to watching this show with my daughter when it launches on the 16th.

I just noticed a potentially interesting detail when rewatching the trailer.

So the Teela/Sorceress character is a sort of amalgam, it seems.

The screen capture shows red/pink and green shadow outline images of the character, whose main color is white. Could this be a reference to the Sorceress and Goddess from the vintage mini comics?

Also from Modern DC Comics' take on the myths, Teela becoming The Sorceress had her visually becoming The Green Goddess.

My first impression is a world that has moved on from sword-and-sorcery and is sort of futuristic-mechanic, with only a few figures using magic.

We got villains who use magic in secret, heroes using magic in a tech era where no one uses magic anymore (maybe deliberately), and maybe a chosen one or group who is meant to revive the old magical ways.

This genre is predictable that way. But it can also be fun that way.

Yeah, it's definitely more into the sci-fi aspect, a little more magical cyber-punk, and that's fine, if that's what the kids like. The Sword and Sorcery crowd like myself will always have other avenues.

If I understand correctly, Teela is "the Sorceress" as her transformed state, but the character I assume to be Teela-Na (the blue ghost/projection/hologram lady) is called the "Eldress".

I had a similar idea. Apparently there are references to there being both a Sorceress and an 'Eldress'. I'm guessing the latter will be the previous Sorceress/Goddess equivalent. I also suspect they could all end up being identical to each other, apart from some wardrobe differences. (think multiple Teela redecos, referencing the clone origin story).

    The theme song sounds decent.

The title sequence feels close to the TMNT 2012 show.

The music style of the theme song is not my cup of tea but I can always skip the intro of the episodes.

I like He-Man displaying some feats of strength related moves like the concussive stomp as well as a Captain Marvel ish calling down of his transformation energy as an attack.

Evil-Lyn looks like formidable foe, which is a good thing. I hope the show elevates the other villains' capabilities as well. I hope Beast Man and Trap Jaw aren't relegated to chuckleheads as usual.

Not really digging you that theme song.
