Is it me or does Prince Adam look like Timothy from Boss Baby? The giant eyes, the hair, etc.
They should throw in five vehicles that combine into a giant robot with a skull for the torso. That or turn castle Grayskull into a giant robot.
Who's to say they won't as the season finale.
Yeah, combining vehicles and transforming robots is really crossing the line for MotU, which all true fans know is not whacky at all.
Originally, i actually intended to avoid Transformers Animated. It just sounded so weird.
I just watched one episode, and I was hooked. I'd actually have it down as my all-time favourite, even if the concept deviated from traditional G1 (which I am, and always will be, a big fan of), and a big part of it was due to both the writing, and the art/animation (not so much the style, but the way it was used to enhance the story, and it's characters - who were awesome).
I was kind of hoping, them being both Netflix series, there might be a way around that. Or at the least, some unofficial Easter eggs hinting at the other seties.
. Revelation should have an original version She-Ra crossover (if ever possible), while this version looks like it goes better with the newer version of She-Ra.
I suppose it helps that we've got Revelation as well. That's my original MOTU fix covered (it's not perfect, but as long as they finally bring back He-Man, I'll probably enjoy it), complete with toyline.
But this new version looks the kind of series that I tend to enjoy. (I like the way Adam seems almost dubious when he tries to transform for the first time.)
Yes, the characters have been drastically reimagined, but it's definitely way better than, say, 'Thundercats Roar' . I like the idea of all of He-Man's team getting an upgrade, which makes the idea of them all being 'Masters' seem more appropriate.
. . Now it all comes down to the writing.
In any case, it looks like fun.
When Filmation was still around and developing He-Man and the Masters of Space (what would become The New Adventures of He-Man after moving to DiC) they were going to have Castle Grayskull explode to reveal a starship hidden inside.
So when's the Transformers and MotU collab?
Looks like a fun kids show made by actual fans.
I don't get the point of having two He-man shows back to back.
Especially when this looks... not great.
I'm not a huge fan of He-Man's proportions and the number of silly jokes heard in the trailer, but maybe that's fine for the target audience.
The show is a great departure from the He-Man I know and I admit it won't be easy for someone like to me to judge it on its own merits without making comparisons (despite knowing that this isn't meant to be related to the previous series) but I'll watch the first episode and then decide it it's worth watching the rest.
Skeletor growing kaiju sized with He Man and team piloting Mecha-Grayskull would be great!
Why is everyone acting like robots and spaceships would be new for MOTU?
We aren't we are joking around and saying silly things. Were goofing around.
"They added robots to this franchise that's always had robot characters. I'll be here all week, tip your waitstaff."
And now the usual suspects (CFTV, etc) are looking for things to complain about.
Not new, just not given too much importance. MOTU is considered primarily a swords and sorcery franchise in line with Conan, with mostly Man-At-Arms handling the mechanics.
The tech direction may give rise to allowing the cyborg characters of MOTU more prominence. In addition to Trap Jaw and Tri-Klops, we could have:
BLAST ATTAK - an android who can blow himself up and put himself back together.
FEARLESS PHOTOG - A cyborg with a camera head which he uses to suck out people's thoughts and energy.
EXTENDAR - a cyborg knight with telescopic limbs.
Let's see who they can introduce.
There's also a much heavier direction towards tech with "New Adventures" to the point of having a "Starship Eternia", but they had to change the entire setting for that.
The is also a difference between having robots and spaceships on a show, to having Voltron style combining robots, power rangers, or mazinger Z style robot plots. That was part of the joke.
Agree to disagree. The magic users are a minority in a franchise that is mostly sci-fi stuff. Even Grayskull's got computers. Combining robots would make perfect sense if added to that world.
