Anybody watching this? It's awesome stuff. Never would have figured I'd see Paul Giamatti in this sorta role but he's done an awesome job. I can't wait to see the third part on Sunday. Anyone interested, Parts 1 and 2 have been in reruns pretty much everyday.
It is absolutely fucking fantastic. I was unaware he was the man whom defended the British soldiers at the Boston Massacre. I'm really digging it. But most things done by Playtone rock. (See: Band of Brothers)
Haha. Yeah I know. I was like, "nuh-ah! Really?" And I never realized how messed up tar and feathering someone could be. That was just rough.
I just caught the first two episodes last night. Amazing performances by Giamatti, Morse, Linney, and the rest. The tar and feathering scene was a bit sad to watch, and I also find the music VERY well done.
Saw the first two episodes when they aired sunday, and they rocked! All I have to say is David Morse fucking nailed George Washington, nice to see him play a "good guy" for once. Oh and way anyone else impreesed with Zeljko Ivanek as John Dickinson? I thought that the dignity and nobility that Ivanek brought to the role was great.
John Adams was one of my heroes when I was growing up. It started with 1776, and grew from there, even though I later learned they exaggerated certain bits of his personality. Makes me wish I got HBO. Seriously, go read his biography. He's done so many things that shaped this country, and he's hardly remembered
i don't have HBO, but know someone with TiVo and HBO...wasn't going to watch it until i saw that it was based upon the book written by the same man that Did Truman a few years back- loved that book (albeit long as hell, lol.) now i am interested.
it's a great series, but, Paul Giamatti, is not nearly as good as the William Daniels Adams, even IF the Paul Giamatti, is more accurate lol. but, he does a great job of doing the job. fantastic series. and he is my favorite of the founding fathers lol. so it's nice to see that he is finally getting SOMETHING lol
