Hey guys, I'm just curious if many of you have run into the same predicament I did. I have a small group of friends who I play Halo with almost every night, so of course when I purchased WFC as soon as it was released, I knew I would have to convince them to get it. Now, none of them are really Transformers fans at all, and immediately shot me down as they had no interest in a game about them. I tried pointing out reviews and how the gameplay itself was loads of fun, but they refused to listen. Only my friend's little brother agreed with me (having played the demo) and bought the game last week. His older brother saw him playing it and took a shot, and instantly fell in love with it. Now, after we convinced another of my friends to try the demo, he too wants to get it at the first opportunity. I'm glad I got my friends hooked, but I just wish it would have happened sooner. Meanwhile, another of my friends played the demo and intended to get it for quite a while, but now is putting his money towards Madden '11. I guess you win some, lose some.
I know one person who wants it. I didn't ask him though, he just likes Transformers. My brother thinks its dumb but if he played it he'd like it probably. Maybe when the price goes down I'll get it for him so we can play together (no split screen ).
Way before WFC came out, I told one of my friends all about it. He's not really what I'd call a Transformers fan, but he said he was getting it because Starscream was his favorite character. He never talked about Transformers before or even said he liked it, so I had trouble believing him. Well, a week before it comes out I ask him if he's still getting it since me and my boyfriend were gonna need more people to play with us on Escalation or whatever. He said that he hated Transformers and wasn't gonna get it. I asked him about him liking Starscream, then said he was just screwing with me when he said all that.
I got a couple of co workers interested in the game and now they love the multi player saying its "call of duty and halo with robots!" So Success.
I guess I'm batting a thousand I've only told one friend, but he was convinced to purchase it the day it came out due to the videos I sent him up to launch. We play it together when we find each other online, but he plays a great deal of it on his own. He loves it more than Modern Warfare 2, which he's put on hold for the time being.
see everyone i know that has gotten it have given up on the game some a week into it others within the past two weeks. if the game would have been patched to not DC players host switch etc i can pretty much gaurantee allot of people would have stayed to played and allot more would have bought the game!!
Failed. None of my friends have purchased it or have an interest in it. I've been trying since the game was first mentioned last December in Gameinformer.
I've actually had a few demonstrations over at my place. And a few of buddies actually ended up buying it. They really didn't know much about Transformers lore, except for one, but they thought it was a fun enough. So success!
I'm in the same boat. A few of my friends that are even partially into Transformers have no interest in it. My cousin (who was into the cartoon back in the day) didn't even think about it. He is a MW2 nut and plays it for hours a day. He doesn't play anything else really. I keep suggesting it and mentioning how much fun it is with hopes that enough sales will guarantee a sequel... but usually before the end of the night they will over hear me bitching about the connection issues and glitches - which ensures no one rushes out to get it. Truth hurts sometimes...
I've shown my group of friends the game and they are impressed, but the likelyhood of them getting the game is kinda slim. One friend is a average fan (I'm the tf geek out of my group lol) and said he wanted it, but i guess I'll have to wait and see.
I tried to convince my cousin to rent the game but he didn't get it. Either he was too lazy or he just doesn't want to get it.
I have been trying to get a few of my co-workers to get it...They both say they want to but are saving up for other items like tires for trucks, etc....damn, it sucks being a responsible adults!
I mentioned it to my brother and he actually ended up getting the game before me. I've showed it to my brother-in-law and my two of my nephews and they all want it but haven't picked it up yet.
