Victory Saber thoughts Pros/ general -getting Victory Leo into his Armor Mode is intuitive -joints are strong enough to hold the bulk up -you may have to look close to get the boots/ backpack into their clips Cons Not much range of motion in whatever arm is holding the V Lock Cannon with the wings blocking the shoulder guns
I wish the wings could tilt back to move out of the way. However to mitigate the wings from blocking the shoulder guns, I use the butterfly joints to give the shoulder guns more clearance(and sometimes pivot those shoulder guns downwards).
Honestly very happy with this set. The Japanese cast is so unique compared to getting the same old G1 but more Geewunn we've been getting for awhile. A shame it's a haslab meaning normal collectors will have a hard time with him. Well worth the price considering the paints apps, sculpt, and content. You not only get a complete Star Saber (brainmaster and all) but Victor Leo so you can complete the combination which is so nice. Fire and Holi are a nice throwback but man they have qc issues. What should have been a very simple and nice bonus is kinda spoiled. Also feeling that Minerva got a full deluxe release but the other headmaster Jrs. are left with this. Can't wait to buy some new shelves so I can display him next to God Ginrai and LeoKaiser
I originally passed on Backing this, as I was more interested in the old MP star saber. As time went on..I watched reviews and kinda regretted it. A good dude, hooked me up, and I have to say...this is quite the presentation. The "unboxing" of this guy is really a great experience. Im gunna say there is $25 worth of printed and pack material just in that. More specifically, you could "unbox" this guy, and display them without even taking them out of the plastic ties, and it would look AMAZING. The surprise for me is how much I like Leo..victory? I guess thats his name..He is such a throwback to G1, that THIS...THIS is the doofy chunky robot updates I like to see when they "redo" G1 TFs. This one is so much fun. The fact it has a huge aerodynamic deficiency is of no relevance to the 7 year old in my head, Both my son and I LOVE this flying cannon thing. The lion mode is extremely charming as well.. Star saber? Freakin fastastic. Zero QC on my copy besides a bit of loose arms at the elbow..But i can fix that. The 2 micro guys are seriously garbage, and that budget at least should have went to proper elbow ratchets..but thats really it. Oh..one more gripe..I really thought the head would turn like a turret on the V star..but no..Thats pretty wank. This was a pretty good price-Value buy here. Overall there is serious amount of paint, THICK, quality plastic..and deep details. Saber in both modes is hands down AWESOME. The Pilot in the canopy looks fantastic. I still say this could easily been a commander class, for everyone to be able to get..and maybe make Leo a pulse exclusive..I dunno. I kinda feel for those that wont be able to own this for a fair price, but it really is a killer set. I am VERY interested to see what the market does on this guy. With the recent cancellations..I can totally see Hasbro offering this again...but then..would that be good policy? I dunno...but im very happy I got one.
Hey uh, i got a problem. Mine came, seemed all good, but then i tried to put Saber in his little jet mode and uh. The right Slot for the little bits of the nose-cone there? It's just straight up filled in. There's no gap there.
Yes, it's one of the common quality control problems. We discussed it on the first page of this review thread.
I seem to have hit the quality control lottery. No complaints about mine at all. Fiddled more with mine today and I really just love it. If there's anything to complain, it's that some of the connection points are almost too secure. Unplugging the two from each other in jet mode takes a slightly uncomfortable amount of force.
Don’t usually back haslabs but very happy with the set. Very playable as well. Just did a quick conversion to victory mode as travelling for this week but going to play a bit more when back.
Now we have to wait until Fall 2023 for Deathsaurus (I imagine around September thru early November)............

Figured out why Holi’s legs keep popping off, and how to fix it. Luckily it couldn’t be easier. The entire figure is held together with one screw. Remove it, take it apart (no glue) and pop the limbs off to give yourself room to work. See those little nubs on his waist? They serve no purpose other than hindering his legs and making them fall off. Get a sharp blade and slice those things off. Reassemble and Holi can sit, kick, etc with ease, and the legs stay on - at least they do on mine. The two halves of his waist section meet evenly after the cuts so it’s even a tiny aesthetic improvement.
Has anyone that has contacted Hasbro about qc issues heard anything back? All I have is an email saying they are still researching it. I do wonder if all those European orders getting canceled has anything to do with said qc issues.
Well, I have not played with my set much yet, I tried the super combined mode and... Nooooo... One of my Victory Leo halves is missing the red C-clip to attach the "Leo shoe".
Just recieved my replacements. It was in regards to some chrome paint splotches on Victory Leo and stressed tabs on star saber's sword hilt. Wasnt expecting them to ship me a whole Saber and Victory Leo!
Yeah that sounds great but I don't see how that's especially safe for the chrome. I haven't heard back from Hasbro for my issue yet.
Any other QC issues that I should add to the front page? I'm going to update it later this week. Sucks to hear about the various problems people are having and how some of our international colleagues were not able to even get the figure.
Props to Rewind for the fix to improve Holi. This probably has been covered earlier in the thread, but I was messing with Victory Leo a bit and noticed a bit of a gap on the lion head. I fiddled with it a bit and discovered the lion nose can pull straight off! Scared the hell out of me when it happened. (also be careful with the fangs/horns, as those are partially held in place by the lion snout.)
