A thing I've not seen mentioned that I've come across:

My Star Sabers biceps (gunmetal grey parts) on his left side was a bit loose so I tried to tighten the screw, normally you'd stop when you get some resistance right? That would show its as tight as can be.

But it kept screwing until I took a look and noticed the screw had warped the soft plastic and screwed almost straight through. The grey pieces are softer material which I hadn't noticed.

Same thing happened on my Victory Leo, but the plastic is a bit firmer on his black forarms, and I found my issue couldn't be resolved with tightening the screw as there was a bit of flash preventing the forearm pieces to close fully. Took apart, cleared the flash and all was good.

I still love the hell out of this set and its my number 1 figure/s of the year.

Same shitty KO KFC hands with imploding fingers that have been on eBay for various other figures, also with awful 3d printed nylon adapters by Tim Heada. We talked about this set earlier in another thread and the shorter sword makes no sense as he needs a longer blade.

Smaller sword is probably intended for saber to use which im cool with. The more i mess with the sword the more i wish the sword blade was connected with a 5mm peg into the hilt and that the hilt had a fold away peg hole to make the nosecone more streamlined. Once i learn some modeling software maybe draft something up.

Alright! Upgrade kit #1 is here:

This is the gap filler and new lower arms for Saber upgrade.

Overall, it’s kinda redundant and probably not worth the cash at this point.

    Complaints:
    1. the cannon fillers are super hard to remove and the paint flakes off super easy.
    2. the paint doesn’t match but meh, it’s not horrible.
    Pros
    1. If you are stuck it, I think the gap fillers look okay.
Save the money and buy the DNA upgrade kit. Also, if anyone wants the Star Saber forearms, lmk and it is yours!

I didn't have good experience with some prior Super Make sets due to the poor surface finish quality. I put them on my avoid list. At least good to know things haven't improved.

Those Victory Leo thigh fillers look rough, too. I'll wait to see if GoBetter does anything here.

When my set arrived, I set it aside to have something to open for Christmas. Life got in the way, as it often does, and I was able to spend time with the set today. I really like a lot of things about the set, and there are a few things I don't.

The presentation is really nice. The reversible box sleeve is nice, as is Guido's artwork on it. The included cardboard "print" is bizarre and I wish it were a nicer quality that would be suitable for framing. The figures themselves are (on the whole for me) outstanding. I have no attachment to any of it other than I think it looks cool, so I'm pleased with it. The engineering is really impressive, particularly with Victory Leo. There's a LOT packed into that figure. The combined Victory Saber mode is really impressive, with a few caveats mentioned below. The micromasters look nice, but I don't have any reason to unsecure them, as I already have the molds and they aren't anything new to me.

While the presentation is nice, I cannot understand.why the contents aren't held in place by an overlaying clamshell. If the box is stored vertically with the contents inside, most of the contents won't be secured at all. I don't get it. MP figures have had that additional molded layer of plastic to secure the contents, and I don't understand why a simple item like that isn't part of a premium product like this. I know Hasbro is getting away from plastic packaging, and I applaud that, but have a secured small insert cardboard box or something for some of the accessories.

The lack of shoulder movement on Victory Saber and the lack of ankle tilts on the figures really stands out for me as missed easy opportunities as well. Some simple upgrading of those parts would have really added a lot of movement. Hasbro has done a really good job in recent years with ankle tilts, so the exclusion of that here seems odd.

I got lucky on the QC front. I put the figure through the motions for transformation to ensure everything was correct and everything is assembled correctly. My chrome looks great. The only QC issue I have is with one of the two red and white shoulder cannons, with some scraping/cuts in the red on top of one. I wish it weren't there, but I'll live.

Overall, I'm very happy having backed the figure. Very impressive in hand, and the size of that instruction booklet let's you know you've got a lot to deal with! I wish some of the range of movement and packing decisions were handled better, but it is what it is and I'll need to take some additional care in packing it back up in the box when that time.comes. All in all, a very impressive set and worth the money in my opinion.

Star Saber has ankle tilts, Victory Leo only has toe tilts.

If you got a bunk Victory Sabre set, be sure to contact Hasbro consumer care. They are doing a replacement production run with more strigent quality control.

Your issues will need to be documented, and you will need to ship the bad item back for exchange. Hasbro will provide the shipping label.

This will likely take some months. I'm wondering why they thought it wise to meet the deadline with bad qc issues. I would have rather gotten an email telling me it was delayed instead of fulfilling orders with substandard product. But at least we aren't getting it as bad as some Mattel crowdfunding customers.

This is an assumption only. There is no official word that they're doing a second production run, or that QC control will be any different. The email does seem to suggest a second run, but I wouldn't be telling anyone that until it is confirmed.

Does anyone know if we can actually trust Hasbro to send a new Star Saber if we send in our ones with issues? I'd rather have a slightly broken Star Saber than none at all.

:thumb  I hope that happens for all of you who are affected by negative QC issues! Although like I said, until Hasbro officially says that I would take it with a grain of salt. Customer Care Supervisors have been known to stretch the truth or just simply not know what's what before.
