Is anyone else's little firetruck guy unable to transform due to leg issues? From what I can tell, the right foot/truck cab has different inside molding compared the left, and it forces the leg to bend outwards. I'll try to take pics later of it.

As for the big guys, yeah. Got plenty of paint problems. Scratched chrome, lots of minor overspray and a few major, and one of my Star Sabers's kneecaps have differently shaded yellows compared to his other kneecap.

On mine only problems have been Holi's leg joints (but that has been known on every version of that mould since it was created) and on his front bonnet there is a smudge where the black paint over sprayed onto the part that is supposed to be white.

Other than Victory Leo having a single loose bot mode knee mine is without issues thankfully

One of the hinges on the face piece inside the helmet broke the very first time I went to transform it.

The most annoying problem I have is that I can’t display the sword in the toy position because I think there’s some extra plastic in the hilt, but I’ve been tinkering and think I’ve fixed that though. Still doesn’t stay or sit straight too well. Mostly sloppy paint splotches besides that however.

@Rotorstorm which knee on Leo? Mine is the left one

I had to take two goes at it to get it cleared, but I used the tip of a fresh stanley knife blade to try carefully cutting out the slot from both the outside and inside of the part. Then, because I didn't have a narrow enough blade to cut out the narrowest edges of the slot, I used a 1.5mm drill bit twisting it by hand to drill out from the inside of the part, then a 2mm bit to get the slot to the right size. With a narrower craft knife you might be able to cut it out using just that though.

Mine only has a few, very minor QC issues:

    1. Speck of dust in the gold paint on Saber
    2. Left antenna very slightly bent, even after hair dryer treatment
    3. Sword blade has a very slight bend as well, but it still goes in the leg storage slot smoothly
    4. Sword blade is very difficult to put in toy configuration; Anime mode works fine and isn’t likely to scratch the paint.

There was a small blemish in the yellow paint on SS’s crotch plate…. But it somehow healed itself. I’m still baffled.

No, the paint job as a whole isn’t perfect, but expecting it to be strikes me as somewhat unreasonable even given the price of the figure.

I had the sane issue. I just cleared the plastic away with a Dremel. Theres

I had the same issue. I cleared the obstruction away with a Dremel.

Other than that admittedly serious problem, my copy seemed otherwise flawless. Very much worth the money to me, it's an excellent figure. Highly possible with good tolerances, feels great in hand and looks fantastic on the shelf. I owned the MP and this one is much more fun to pose and mess with. Much better joints and articulation. I think it is the right size, too. The MP was so big it was hard to enjoy. Star Saber in combined mode is just perfect for a chug collection.

Most of the issues on mine are minor.

A corner dent on the shipping box…and the protective box…and the slipcover.

Holi’s legs pop off at every possible opportunity.

The compression peg (not sure what else to call it) holding Fire’s ladder to his back is kind of malformed, so it doesn’t really want to stay in place.

One of Star Saber’s ankle tilts prefers to click to a slight angle and it takes some force to make it straight.

The ab crunch is worryingly resistant to movement.

There are various, mostly minimal tolerance issues where a panel doesn’t really want to stay locked in place.

And then there’s the one incredibly annoying one:

Outside of some small chips of gold on the chests (which really should be painted yellow, stop making this mistake people!) and the legs on the micro masters popping off (likely due to being older minis that are lame anyways), mines is a go!

IMO, you could probably buff out the scratch with some good plastic polish, so it may not even be a big dwal in the end.

Definitely not the worst QC issue, but still disappointed with the paint job on mine. This is the worst offender, but I got blue specs on certain parts of the figure. Any suggestions would be appreciate.

    BREAKING:
I just noticed the knees are wack while typing up about the paint job. Not exactly sure if I got repeat pieces or the alignment is just bad.

I actually did both. Emailed them today. Should hear from them in 72 hours. But whatever comes of that, I'm really fine with it as it is now. Even if I knew ahead of time this is what I would get, I STILL would have ordered it. It's one of the best pieces I own.

Yeah, that's true. I will give that some thought. But I really am good with it as is. I just wanted the nose to fit snugly on the jet. The marked plastic doesn't even show in any finished mode. And it's much harder to see in person anyway. The macro on my camera is like a bionic eye.

The only QC issues I had thus far are the decals tearing as I was trying to carefully peel them off and the back of Saber's regular jet mode likes to come unplugged when I try to plug his arms into the side. But other than those two issues, everything seems fine so far.

One of the knees on one of mine was that was as well. Messed around with it for a second and moved on. Not sure if it’s an assembly error or can be fixed by fidgeting with it some.

I would guess rubbing alcohol might take that blue paint right off. I use 91% strength for that. Usually works, but takes some time and effort for thick paint.

The knees... Yeah not sure what to tell you there. Maybe contact Hasbro about that one if you dont see a fix. Have you spun it round for the landing gear yet? Is it properly positioned to turn?

The flaps still function. But fi you look closely, you can see how the actual cut outs in the knees are not symmetrical. I'm assuming the knee on our right is the correct formation because it does look more straight. On the left knee you can see how it is more diagonal and almost aligns with the first ridge. I know it's super nitpicky, but considering this thing wasn't massed produce, I sort of expected a perfect a figure. I might just take the L because besides that and the paint, everything else seems ok. You guys think I should hit up support about it or nah? EDIT: Also can anyone confirm is the white on the arms and legs are painted white or just white plastic?

Just wanted to add to this thread for awareness of others, my QC issue has to do with the leg panels being the same side, which prevents transformation to vstar. This can't be fixed without a new panel. I did contact customer service and still waiting on notice of shipment for parts. I also have an issue on the flight stand adapter not fitting the storage peg but that's not that important to me.

I'm pretty certain the white is just the base plastic. I've looked it over carefully, and that's how it seems to me.

My Holi likes to eject his legs. Had some extraneous silver paint on Autobot Saber's visor. I was able to remove it with some light sandpaper, but it just means the visor is not perfect on one side and I'll always know.

I have the barest of issues with the gold paint on one side of Star Saber’s chest, and it’s barely noticeable unless you’re really looking for it. Otherwise, mine is in pretty good shape.
