The REAL problem is how can WE in Asia obtain this ASAP? And will TT do something with the mold? I’d much rather have MP snapped but in the box and have a toon gray paint-job instead of the metallic silver face.

I very highly suspect that TakaraTomy will do their own TTMall exclusive run, should Hasbro be able to fund the production run. We'll have to see how/if that pans out there. It's possible they might be more restrictive about that release than normal due to distribution agreements with Hasbro.

 

Maybe we should start a thread for folks here in the US/CAN that are willing to help international folks get this.

Again, beware international shipping costs on this. They're going to be beastly.

Hmm I'm on the fence for sure....I wonder why they didn't make the red abs out of a different type of material they should be glossy, all the red parts should be glossy like they were in the movie, for this price point everything about this Unicron should look premium

 

They haven't "made" anything yet. This is the hand-painted prototype we're looking at here, and doesn't necessarily reflect the final product.

I've noted earlier in the thread that the early, low-detail mockup has a translucent insert in his abs. So that was likely the intent for the piece. Whether it costs out in the end is uncertain.

 

For nearly 600 bucks this uber giant Unicron had better been possessed by the ghost of the late and great Orson Wells! Or I want a total refund!

Hell yeah, I'd pick this up. Looks amazing in both modes and the size alone is nothing to scoff at.

 

There's a pretty infamous moment in his career where he was hired to do the voice recording for a frozen peas commercial, and because of his ego, he let the take go on for ages as he complained about everything about the gig, the direction he was given, just absolutely everything. So frozen peas kinda jokingly became Orson Welles' "thing", as a result of how ridiculously seriously he took it.

Pinky and the Brain even did a pastiche of the whole ordeal, since Welles was the major inspiration for The Brain:

 

That's because for Canadian orders, it's shipped out from Hasbro's center in Montreal. The taxes suck, but it also means we don't have to deal with any hassles of getting the thing over the U.S. border.

Still, all told, this thing costs almost $1000 Canadian which is.....excessive. Without any electronics, i'm really skeptical about the value for price i'm getting with this, but i'm a TF whore, so i've backed it anyway. I'm really glad I didn't pre-order Metal Structure Nu Gundam last month though, because $2000 on two toys in two months would make me question my sanity.
