Different standards. HasTak has both public safety requirements and internal standards. Their standards say it can't be done with the current materials, but a third party or KO operation doesn't have those standards.

I'd imagine much bigger and there's risk of the figure just collapsing long term. It takes a lot of tech to build tall things and not have them pancake. A figure is even more difficult as the entire upper body is going to exert force on your joints, especially the hips.

Similar issues with downsizing. If you downsize a figure you make the parts smaller which runs you right into choking hazard restrictions. In addition key parts might not have the tensile strength when up or down sized needed. HasbTak is trying to build things that can stand up to play and that last. If Zeta Star builds a unicron and a month later it collapses, they can just fold up, get a new corporate name, and try it again later.

Yeah “funny” business. It wouldn’t surprise me if we saw a massive jump this weekend but now is a little premature.

You know, you've gotta modify/fill the status bar too if you're going to make it convincing.

maybe hasbro only allotted them a certain amount, or they had a deadline to close their preorders before the final deadline

I really don't want to ignore that guy because his nuggets of fool's gold are priceless. But I fear I am reaching that point where I have read too much at one time.

No no you see you're not allowed to enjoy Unicron because you see, you're wrong and here's why you can't have fun and like things unless I like them too! That's how it works, right? Give me attention!
    (/s, obviously)
I won't be getting him but I am also in all seriousness very glad this absolute chonker is coming to fruition, a lot of people are going to have a cool thing in their collection come 2021

Yep, I was wrong on a few things but I believe I estimated this would be in the low 8100s. My new estimate with etailers is it pushes over 10000

If they made it bigger we would probably have trypticon problems anyway, because you'd need really fricking strong springed ratchet joints to maintain integrity on a meter high unicron figure with the die cast you'd need to throw in to give it proper structural integrity. I'm having a hard enough time finding a torso for my g1 shockwave that hasn't been split open by the springs in his shoulder joints breaking the screw posts in half

I saw Unicron avalible for order on Kapow around 10 am. Then the site crashed. It is an official crowfunding so it should be avalible just as long as any other site.

You know there is now going to be a Youtube video of someone taking a newly shipped Unicron and absolutely destroying it by using it as a sledgehammer...just because they could... and the RAGE posts that will follow!

If that's how someone wants to spend their $600, then all the power to them. Can't hate 'em too much if they contributed to the 8000 goal to let me have mine.
