This is a good point actually, the weight of this figure could end up damaging a lot of shelving if not supported properly. Anything from Wal-Mart will most definitely be warped over time.

That's kinda where I am at. I'd rather see Quintessons if they are intent on more movie characters. Or Lithonians... Lithones.

A proper DevCon, Alpha Trion. Orion Pax, Ariel and Dion that aren't simple repaints.

Anything that isn't exactly getting a new figure every line.

Concerns done to death and it's quite frankly boring and annoying at this point.
    Sorry but it's the truth.

Honestly, Siege is doing pretty decent at giving us brand new figures. Who ever thought they'd see Powerdashers? Or actually give Ironworks a whole new figure? Seems weird to blow a teaser on Sharkticons.

Eh. At that point you might as well pick up Cyberverse Gnaw then. There's not much difference:

Sorry, I meant "and as there are already Generations ones". Unicron is billed as a collectors item but is styled in the Generations line of the moment. If HasLab were to do Sharkticons - and as I said I don't think that was the point of the post - then it'd have to be in MP style and scale otherwise there'd be no point.

I reckon there's a ready market for a Sharkticon/Allicon set. HasLab crowdfunding for an MP aesthetic group, one of each, two and one, add in Quints too, etc. and you could easily get $$$$.

The best thing for them is that they'd just need to KO their own stuff. The Sharkticon from Generations just needs to be bigger and less lined, I suspect that the engineering would be identical. Hell, for the others they can KO some of the 3P versions from a few years back!

I reckon a spread of the relevant Quints (executioner and judge for definite), and one of each Sharkticon/Allicon could easily sell for $500-600 to MP collectors. These are the people spending similar amounts on Zeta combiners, or a couple of FT figures, not people who are looking at a Titan and scoffing at $200 (which by the way I'm totally in tune with).

Unicron can carry the load due to his reputation. CHUG people want the pinnacle of their collection, MP people want the only huge Unicron out there (and can live with the issues that clearly not MP). That's not going to work with other characters I don't think

Pretty sure these would be tiny slugs to go along with Galvatron and Hot Rod - not new Haslab projects unto themselves.

I'll always buy more Sharkticons, sign me up!

Oh, and it looks like it's highly likely I better find some sort of display for my wife's Unicron. Good thing I have a year or so and some experts in this thread I can confer with. It's amazing the amount of expertise this thread has attracted: Legal scholars, master marketers, and now wood experts!

Of course, I have my own wood expert I can confer with, my dad worked with wood for over 60 years, first in a mill, then as a logger, lastly as a carpenter, he's handled every aspect of wood in other words. He would back what @lordsmurf said about wood bowing over time, although my dad would point out that it depends on the type of wood it was made of, how it was treated and where the supports are and how many in relation to the surface area. In other words, if using wood for a stand - choose wisely.

It’s been said the yellow on Unicron looks different depending on lighting and lens used. This picture shows a more orange warmth. Very nice!

We’re at 6933 backers at the moment. So close to that 7k milestone. I’m refreshing that HasbroPulse page like it’s my damn job.

The problem is that the good points of Zeta and Haslab stem from incompatible design goals. It's not a simple task to make a figure that is the best of both worlds, maybe even impossible. Keep in mind also that Zeta never showed a painted prototype, and I strongly suspect that the reason is that the deco isn't going to be fully accurate due to the transformation scheme they implemented.

About the weight...yeah, one must be careful to check the strength of the shelves where the figure is going to be displayed. Luckily the two spots where I can put it are a furniture which used to hold a 28 inches crt weighting probably between 20 and 30kg and a shelf made in concrete several centimetres thick.

For folks asking about Zetacron vs Haslabicron, I made up this little chart several weeks ago to help people who were on the fence; however, I have updated it to reflect recent events. Much of it is selective and up to individual preference but that's why I left the check marks blank so you could choose the one that appealed to you personally. That's 13 kilos (start using the metric system, Americans, please, I hate to constantly have to use converters) and the toys I have on my desk already easily weigh more. Obviously, don't put Unicron on a flimsy coffee table. ;)

    Odd, link is dead.
