It’s amazing how many master marketers and IP Law professors this thread has attracted. Considering how much they generally charge in everyday practice, I’m surprised so many are here giving their advice and counsel away for free.

you know, Hasbro could take another angle for this withot incurring in expensive legal actions. Hasbro could just put some presure on the retailers that deal with third Party products, Thet can say "ok, This is the new scenario, if you continue to sell products from third-party companies, we don't work with you anymore." you know, Hasbro is not just Transformers, is Marvel, Starwars and a lot more franchises.

If he's packed in planet mode, with rings and stand detached of course, I imagine something like 60x60x60cm. In robot mode, maybe 80x55x55? A big factor will be if the stand is a monolithic piece or will require assembly in order to be packaged more efficiently.
I'm not an expert on the subject, so my estimates might be way off if there are constraints I'm not aware of (like not exceeding some set dimensions, or the need for a bigger and sturdier box to not damage the figure).

To each their own. Like you I am disappointed in current Masterpiece toys, but I don't replace them with what to me are fakes, I just skip them. More money saved.
Third party quality also leaves a lot to be desired... I have the Crossfire set and it is so brittle one tiny panel on Blast-Off already broke almost on arrival, and everyone remembers how Hercules needed replacement parts released. I know these are older toys, maybe they improved.
Mostly I just don't have the overwhelming urge to "own it all". Carnivac is my favourite Con after Shockwave, he has no official or third party toy yet but eh, I can wait. I disliked Masterpiece Shockwave so I skipped him, but I was blown away by WFC Siege Shockwave and he works fine for me as my general G1-Classic Shocky.
