you know folks, no one knows what another person's life looks like. a figure, any figure, could mean a heck of a lot to someone for a variety of reasons. think about the person with 6 months to live in the hospital with one last wish...be it meeting a baseball player, getting that baseball card or getting that figure. whatever the case, again, we don't know anything about anyone on here. keep that in mind when you choose to post a smart ass remark to someone who is excited for this thing to happen.
the smart ass crap is ridiculous. move on, or better yet, get a life.
all in all, the point is, those that don't want anything to do with this figure have a right to not want it, but why bother with those that do? what do you get out of it and why aren't those comments being removed for a better place to discuss this thing?

So looking at the official numbers right now is rough. It has taken about 3 days to add about 50 backers. Ironically that is a good thing because for nearly 14 days there was approximately a net of zero contributors. However when you look back at the campaign as a whole, even during its August slow period it was averaging about 50 a day. I'm starting to get the feeling that 6k is about the maximum number of US backers that can be expected for this project. We have a little over 2 weeks left and it will be interesting to see where this goes.
Tomorrow I'll be posting an updated chart to mark the 2 week notice, but as before it looks like there will have to be a massive infusion of overseas orders to get this thing made.

Very discouraging. I’m of the belief that there are 1000 last minute backers. I’m hoping there are 1000 etailers.

So I’d like to see this thing get to 6000 before the end of NYCC so the last two days gets about a 1000.

You are aware the price includes about 100 pounds worth of British Value-Added Tax?

This morning, a reviewer Bobby Skullface revealed that the 1500 bump in orders wasn't organic i.e. Hasbro was pressuring retailers to jump in on this.

    Don't worry, Hasbro will turn the screws and break some skulls if necessary to get this produced. As a programmer I would suggest Hasbro use the following SQL at the last minute: update final_orders set amount = 8000 + final_barge_numbers - 5000 where product_name = 'Unicron';

    Guaranteed win!!!!

being in the uk both prices from kapow toys and tfs-express would be cheaper than buying from outside of the uk because 1.it would cost loads to ship something this big to the uk and 2.we get hit with hefty customs and would on this , it would end up costing around £700( $873)

Apologies if this has been answered or discussed already but I'm wondering if, should this meet the 8000 target by the deadline and it goes into production, will Haslab then continue to take orders in the 2 year production period so even more people can purchase it? I'd imagine yes as it's more money for them which both adds to their production budget and profits instead of limiting themselves to whatever the current deadline total will be.

The reason I ask is I am interested in this figure and will be following its development (if it goes ahead) but don't currently have the funds to commit to backing it, and as many others have also said, there are too many things like the colour, kibble etc that are holding me back. I'd like to have the option to join the party later on though if I change my mind :D

Short answer: from what Hasbro has said thus far, no. This is the only opportunity, same as for the SW barge.

I know Bobby said the 1500 "wasn't organic," but it was Hasbro's affiliate orders... I take him to mean that the orders didn't total 1500 and Hasbro rounded up. To what extent we may never know. But I doubt they rounded up to 1500 from, say, 700. I think at least 1100 of those 1500 must be legitimate orders.

I am afraid you are looking at aftermarket prices if you don't jump before the deadline as Haslab is saying this is one time opportunity. That I believe is exactly for this version. Look at eBay how much they are peddling this un-made product. Its crazy pricing already!!

This guy is getting produced either way
They will get the numbers to work one way or another
This is going to be the biggest baddest official figure ever produced.

If this gets funded, I shudder to imagine the aftermarket prices after it's been released...

    Edit: YIKES AT THOSE PRICES!!!

Personally I would be kind of pissed if they did offer it after the crowdfund.

Bobby is full of shit. He is guessing, just like anybody else. His "sources" are no more legitimate than what has been written in this thread already.

I certainly hope it gets produced, but I'd rather it happen because ~8000 people want it. It would leave a bad taste in my mouth if Hasbro cheats it into existence.
