Well, damn if Hasbro had read this thread filth the last few days before the extension, they might have cancelled the whole thing out of disgust.

But the last day's thread has been uplifting.

Probably would have backed it at this deadline, but there is a greater chance of me backing it with the extension. Not that I rack the credit card (paid off every month), but between Omega Supreme, GB MP10, other items, I didn’t really feel like having a grand+ in toys on it for the month. Would have probably delayed Omega and cancelled trying to get GB MP10

I told you all they wouldn't let this thing fail. They've spent too much time/money on it. They will keep extending until they get 8000 or more.

It’s a great game. The connection to unicron is never made explicit in the game, but to any fan familiar with the franchise it is a pretty obvious connection that the game makes and helps explain why Kranix knew about unicron in the movie, he probably started researching the strange planet with ominous presence once he landed on Lithone

 

In my honest opinion this was more damage control than listening to the fans. After cookie monster bit the dust, Unicron failing over 1000 or so backers would have been an embarrassment. If they have almost 2 years invested in this project, whats another month ?

 

My guess is that they should transform. They are probably decendants of early transformers who emigrated at the start of the second cybertronian war, (at the end of the golden age). And transformers are transformers because they transform.

You can view it as "damage control" if you like, but first, it was on us to prove there was something worth saving in the first place.

The writing was on the wall for Cookie Monster, and there was no salvaging that project. The same is not true for Unicron. It'd honestly be pretty shortsighted (irresponsible, even) of them if this got up to ~7000 units and just call it quits right there all due to an arbitrary end date. The enthusiasm is obviously there. It's just the timeframe that was possibly too aggressive/ambitious.

This isn't a contest where there needs to be losers (despite what some of you people seem to want).

Now can you please add paint to the shattered eyes on the damaged face plate? That one little thing would make a big difference. Or even better make them translucent like the regular eyes.

It’s obvious you are talking about me. I NEVER said it was done deal. Actually READ my posts before you attack. I shared what I was told by a friend who works at an etailer. I said I was optimistic it would get funded based on what he told me. Many times I said I believed we still needed more backers regardless of what all the etailers turned in. But I was hopeful and now I’m ecstatic because I know for sure this will make it now. But do go on and please continue to use this thread as a platform for all of your pent up rage and frustration in life.

 

I'm also making my voice heard for the battle damaged face to have shattered translucent eyes.

 

Please show me the post where I said it was fully funded. The last update he gave me was it was around 6000 from all sources and that was about 2 weeks ago now. Please I’m waiting.

 

Just looking at the numbers earlier in the day, it really looked like this was gonna go the way of Cookie Monster.  I think Hasbro looked at those numbers and panicked.  Everyone was waiting for the surge and it has not happened.  I think people are right, that the molds are ready and the only they are waiting for is the money to start the presses.  Somehow I knew they would not let this fail.  And if the extension comes and goes and it still does not have the 8000 they need, Hasbro really needs to save face.  Especially now that they announced that they will raise toy prices right before Xmas because of the tariffs that will kick in on Dec 15.  I think everyone can breathe a sigh of relief and reset their countdown clock once again.

 

Good god no. As it is I'm not sure how or where I'm going to display Unicron. Luckily I have quite some time to figure it out. Unicron will be my FIRST AND LAST ruinously huge figure.
