Whatever they are using, be it "line of credit" or not, they still have to keep the funds available. Which means they don't have those funds for other things. Even "line of credit" has a maximum. That IS how it works.  

 

Well I'll be damned. Didn't really think it would get an extension, but they definitely seem committed to making sure this happens. Awesome!

 

But but but I was told by so many posters here that Hasbro was gonna fake all the numbers tomorrow to get this thing to 8000!

 

I was probably going to pass, but this makes me probably 60/40 in. Good for all.

 

Maybe they will roll out a few extras to get more people interested. There is no way I would miss this, but it is still rather underwhelming for the price.

 

Honestly, with this much time added to it, I can't see it failing. People who wanted it but couldnt come with the funds in time will now be able to save up. I am still not getting it, but at least everyone who really wanted it will have a chance to get it. I still was looking forward to it finally being over in a couple of days, but at least now those that wanted it so bad will have a chance to get it.

 

I backed on Pulse on day 1 but I appreciate everyone who is a part of this campaign, no matter what method they are using to back it! I appreciate the sacrifice and hardship so that we all have a giant Unicron!

 

Hasbro reallys wants it to be funded, right? Almost as though they were gonna produce it anyway...

 

I guess also, from a business stand point: You have what....5402 backers ($574.99 x 5402 = $3,106,095.98) already in. That's over THREE MILLION dollars in sales (minus your costs of course) No business in their right minds are going to let that slip away without trying to do everything in their power to make it happen...hitting that magic number or not.

 

The new buffer I'll have between this and MP44 is certainly appreciated.

Quite dense on their part not to think about that in advance.

Welp its most certainly happening now.

 

Its nice that they are extending the deadline (I jumped in Aug. 26), but now it will hit people right on top of their Omega Supreme pre-orders (assuming he does hit on Oct. 1 and people have pre-orders for him). $175-ish plus $600-ish a few days later, all on Transformers...

Extension is not surprising. It's close enough that they know they can get the backers.

They've obviously invested a lot into this, up to and including preliminary tooling. That would be a lot of wasted investment for them to just give it up when they're so close.

 

I highly doubt it's going to take that long to get to 8000. I still think we're gonna see a surge anyway of a lot of orders that were planning on ordering the last day.

I'm not saying it's gonna clear 8000 in two days, but I'm sure it'll be sometime before October 6th, so there won't be a need to clench buttholes for another 38 days.

 

Most people who would be backing Unicron likely have their Omega pre-order already in place. Also, the likelihood of Omega still being around the holidays when people would have funds again is pretty good.

 

Well, this is certainly good news for backers. Pretty sure it will happen now.

Hopefully, this can both be a great figure that comes to fruition AND maybe be a source of lessons at Hasbro.

 

Illogical. If they have $600 on Aug 31, they can just keep that $600 until Oct 6.

Hasbro isn't responsible for people who can't keep money in their bank account.

 

I just saw the email in my inbox. Good. One of my complaints was the tight turnaround and timing of the funding window, so I'm glad it got extended. And yes, hopefully Hasbro learns from this when future crowdfunding figures are offered.
