If I had to guess effect parts are the most likely thing. It's also possible we'll get some exclusive weaponizers or the like, but that'd probably be a bit expensive.

I think a new "Hasbro Shiller" tag is included this month. :Gouki:

How the hell is this a good thing. If they fail they fail, no amount of spilling into mainstream makes this a good situation.

I get the feeling your sig might be foreshadowing some repetition of history.

I genuinely wonder how successful this would be in Japan? Having lived in a comparatively larger, but still tiny, Tokyo apartment, there was NO place this guy would have fit. Not without extreme sacrifice of other things.
This would be a major factor for many, not not just Japanese, potential buyers.

As it is, it's a weird thing for me. I'm not in, can't justify the price of it and can't handle the wait anyway. Yet I say that while getting ready to go out and drop $300 on a pair of sneakers.

I'm not a huge fan of lights and sounds and I get not being able to use Welles, but come on, not even an intern in the bathroom with a mouthful of porridge going "AH AHM UNI CORN!" and a transformation sound back and forth like Fort Max? Jeez.

In short the toy is an A+ (planet mode) and A- (robot mode) but this crowdfunding campaign is - generously - a C at best. I’d be delighted to revise that assessment upwards this coming week.

to follow up to my previous post about the lack of full finger articulation - i’d rather they opted out of that dumb eyeball gimmick and used that extra manufacturing cost towards fully articulated fingers. when they demonstrated that eye gimmick in one of their earlier videos, i could barely see it moving through the outer transparent green layer.

knowing this is a prototype, i’m also hoping his red ab pieces are made out of clear red plastic, as that was such a memorable moment in the movie during his transformation.

I dunno. One of my objections is that I believe it will be terrible for fandom. It demonstrates to Hasbro that they really can charge any amount of money and fans will pay. The recent price (pointless, no way in hell justified at that high) increases have been rough enough; add in increasing mp prices and ...

When even trying to keep up with retail toys is almost pricing peeps out of the hobby... :/

Someone did a voice soundbox for MP Megatron that gives him the Welker voice, I'd like to see one that has multiple channels for Welles, Nobel and the Armada voices (cartoon and game).

I'll reiterate from a prior post in this thread (I've forgotten who, sorry):

Your place to protest then is the increasing shelf prices for mass-release product (not that that will get you very far)

This is a deluxe, limited-edition release of something beyond practical, that would never exist were it not for this attempt. This is not a new norm.

I would for sure be on board if it was half this size and cheaper. There's just no room for something that big, and it's less fun to handle something that big.

Oh, very cool! Yes, I'd love a Unicron voice box for this, especially because the original Unicron toy had one; it'd be a fun call-back.

Where does Megatron's voice box go?

There's really only two you can possibly do, Unicron and Primus. After that, it's just remolds of those two for Armada, Energon, Cybertron and IDW. And that's assuming a Primus isn't already based on the Cybertron version.

I think those have an even smaller potential customer base than G1 Unicron and Cybertron Primus, to be honest, I wouldn't be interested in those, personally. To each their own.

But maybe I'm just biased :p
