I find this topic highly entertaining. When I log in, I grab a bowl of popcorn and turn down the lights before reading these posts.

Says the guy who's made many posts trashing G1 in a thread about a figure and not G1.

That is true. But you saw the level of hate when it hit over $400 ? Those are the guys not buying a Unicron.

"I don't think the final product will weigh 19lbs, without the 200$/10lb stand of course."

so it doesn't really matter if you think it'll weigh that much or not, because current facts state otherwise

Unless, of course, he's accusing Hasbro of lying... which seems par for the course on this thread.

Warden already said it’s the figure himself that’s 19 pounds.

It’s legitimately become tiring coming back to this thread and just repeating the same garbage over and over and over again. It’s no longer a thread talking about him, but a “will it fail/hasbro conspiracy/Q&A”.

    I actually find it laughable.

Essay after essay about economics, the meaning of life, CC debt and marriages all while I look at my order confirmation for this beast that will definitely be made.

Until the finished product is standing unsupported on a digital scale that reads 19lbs that's just hype.

Even if it does actually hit 19 that does nothing to address my prior concerns, it's just weight...

That is true. The more bang for you buck theory. But theres also a lot of people saying they cant afford this but it should be $100 less. Not making fun of them, but who spends $400 on a toy when a $500 toy is out of their budget ? I think there has to be a line in the sand that you dont cross if you have other more serious expenses...

And, so, I guess what I am saying is your opinion is yours do to with as you please. Being an adult of reasonably sound mind, I respect your right to "voice" it as you wish. It is, after all just the internet. No reason to be offended by someone who disagrees with me about something so trivial as a near forty year old cartoon.

But, anyway, if this figure gets funded, I'd imagine the figure will be shipped in planet mode with the ring collapsed down to its smallest size and packed in separately.

There's a link to the Hasbro Pulse listing in the first post of this thread. It has all of the information.

I would love to own this, but just can\'t swallow that price. I\'m not saying it isn\'t worth it, but I don\'t see them cracking the 8K backers. The Jabba one barely got enough backers and that was for Star Wars.

    <------ Been keeping track daily.

It's been getting about 50 new backers per day. I suspect that number will increase as the deadline draws closer.

Sometimes it is -- and illegal gouging, at that. I still remember gas stations jumping prices to $6/gallon on 9/11, and the day after, back when the average price was about $1.25/gallon, and the state AG's office was getting flooded with calls. And the state acted, fining some stations (and companies) for it.

I don't understand some consumers giddiness to bend over and take it when companies jack up prices.

The same folks probably went apeshit over the "pharma bro" (as they should have), but seem to be fine when their favorite toy maker does it. Money is money. And companies taking it because you're stupid enough to give it is not a good reason to do it.

I do still think it's important to recognize there are different sizes of fandom when it comes to Star Wars and Transformers, however. The Sail Barge is the closest we have as reference, but it's also appealing to what is in comparison a larger audience.

barely? it got almost 4000 more than it needed. it got 176% of the needed backers. in what world is that barely enough?

that is true, but its equally important to remember there are a lot of retailers taking orders for this guy that havent been submitted to pulse yet. for example, i had a vehicle emergency so i had to cancel my pulse order and go through chosen prime since through them i can make payments if i choose to. that order doesnt count yet as chosen prime hasnt submitted their orders
