There is 262 backers already. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.

Man, this is the Unicron I've always wanted. All the past efforts before now just didn't do it for me but this...

    *looks up price*

Whelp, that's a huge chunk of change. I'm sorely tempted but I just can't swing it. I'm sure this project will easily find backers though!

After you get this beast you could use him to work out. He'd be good for a low weight high reps work out, so you can get nice and toned.

He’s a handsome guy with a disturbingly attractive altmode, but I wouldn’t know where to put him.

Duly noted, but I stand by my post. The follow up comments I feel turned that interaction into something positive. Take that for what you will.

You guys shocked by the price, are you guys mostly 1st party buyers?

I haven't collected Hastak stuff since TFP, so maybe I'm just used to 3rd party prices and products. I've bought some 3rd party figures in the past couple years that are near this price and half this size or less, so to see something this big, this articulated, this un-skeletonized from Hasbro is astounding, and the price makes perfect sense.

They should come up with a payment plan to collect money in installments rather one huge upfront cost.

It looks great, going to stay in planet mode forever! The stand better be included.....

Sad that I won't be able to even see how much the shipping to europe would be since it doesn't seem like an option :(

Okay, this looks awesome-- I'm not denying that-- but I have... many concerns.

First of all, this thing is absurdly expensive. $575 is an obscene amount of money to put towards one toy, and Hasbro is looking for 8000 backers before the end of August. Considering that they're limiting their market to the US and Canada, that does put a limit on the chances of this thing getting produced at all. Second, where is anyone going to put him? Thrilling 30 Metroplex and his retool in TR Fortress Maximus is already a big boy, finding places to display them is enough of a hassle, and this guy is even bigger and heavier than the both of them. It's going to be a gigantic pain in the ass to carry the thing and transform it, let alone finding a spot to put him.

I'm not going to deny this figure looks fantastic, because it does. That gimmick with his planet-mode maw? Absolutely gorgeous. But at this price I think I'm better off sticking with my Armada Unicron.

Before I make the single most ill-advised purchase of my life, can anyone verify that our money will be returned if the project fails?

You don't get charged until the deadline, and if there aren't enough backers by then, then you don't get charged at all.

I’m in it! Why the hell not! This is the craziest and coolest Unicron I’ve ever seen and I can’t believe this could be a reality in the near future.

The number of backers is a little concerning to me because 8,000 is a lot.
Either way, we need a running tally on the front page, like a fundraiser drive lol.

I made a comment on Twitter about wishing Hasbro offered a payment plan. Someone pointed out to me that the point of crowdfunding is to get the money as quickly as possible to fund the project.

Now my question is if Hasbro offered say a year long payment plan to pay this off and Hasbro pushes Unicron back a bit to accommodate the payment plans getting paid off, would that be a fair trade off?

I'm sure someone's said this, but I am kind of worried about the QC. Hasbro (to my knowledge) has never made an articulated toy this large and heavy. If I'm forgetting something, please correct me.
