Orders are estimated to ship in early 2021.... So they want payment 16 months+ in advance. (Conveniently past the chargeback period too)

Crikey so much for modern technology making things quicker. That is a such a long time I can almost see Scorponok being on the shelf before Unicron - or failing that some sort of repaint of an existing Titan Class Takara might excrete out for easy money.

I might have considered it - I have been considering it - but I'm not paying for something a year and a half in advance.

Really, we're just getting a look inside how these things always work. It takes around a year for the production line to get prepped and tuned for any standard figure, and Unicron is a greater undertaking than that so 1.5 years is "reasonable".

Hasbro needs to have the cash in pocket up front to show that the project is financed. They can't get all the way through the production process, spending millions of dollars along the way, and then just come up at the end going "oops, we didn't make enough money to fully cover, show's cancelled".

    Ebay:
All his figures are red, he’s red/maroon in the show and in the most recent blu ray release he alternated between red and pink depending on scene (I just watched it last night)

There is an immediate authorization charge of the full amount that goes away after a day or two, then it actually charges once the campaign is finished

I am torn whether to get. His alt mode is awesome. The bot mode is a solid B but not an A. If this is going to be the only Unicron that will come out for the next 10 years at this size then I will purchase. I wish I had a crystal ball.

It’s definitely going to be. It took 30 years to get this one. There may never be another TF this size ever again.

People be getting righteously indignant because they don’t understand how a crowdfunding campaign works or because they can’t fathom paying for something up front and waiting for a period of time to get it delivered.

I’m just glad no one started a paranoid conspiracy theory that this is just a giant scam and Hasbro will run away with their money.

All things considered this thread isn't anywhere near that bad. There's a few people who want to stir up the pot so they can watch it boil I guess, but otherwise most of the drama has passed and most people just want to know when the money is due.

Agreed. I think I’m an upbeat and positive person and I want our corner of the fandom to be respectful of each other even if we completely disagree.

    Ya’ll are hilarious. :)

So did the preorders from Japan kick in or was that just a rumor?

I think the Japanese campaign is open now, but I don't think the numbers update in real-time with the HasLab page. I think they'll be fully tallied at the end.

All the other sites will count towards it from the wording they have on each of their listings. The day they get updated/tacked onto Haslab's site though hasn't been said though.
I'm thinking the last week like what happened with the barge where magically 3,000 or so extra orders came in to bring it over the minimum.
