hehehe- can't actually believe its gonna be here soon... kicking myself for not buying it earlier I'll send a pic in a couple of weeks when Ive got my studio decked out with my 80s retro transforming plastic addiction
I passed on it too initially during the campaign, luckily I have a great mate in the TF community who was able to hook me up at cost price. No regrets.
Who can help with providing an idea on how to light up those awesome eyes. Was trying out a thingiverse idea but person who posted isn't responding and not sure how to finish so any other ideas or help would be great. Thanks!
^^ This. You don't have to screw around with buying your components or doing any wiring. Just open the head, plug them in (aligning them is the tricky part), seal it up and you are all set. I love that there is no switch, just the magnet.
Anyone know how to remove the stand? I’ve pulled down with a lot of pressure but can’t get it to budge at all.
From robot mode, or planet mode? Should just slip right out if in robot mode. From planet mode, though, you need to undo the bottom panels of the planet, first.
Currently two easy options: (1) Etsty 'WFC Unicron light kit' - some 3d printed pieces pre-wired, that mount neatly inside the head, a single LED activates with a small concealed switch under the head. I found this very easy to install. (2) Shockwaves lab kit - replacement eyes that have LEDs built in, operated by a large magnet. I got this one recently. I've not installed this one yet for a proper comparison but have a look around page 1848 for more info. Haslab Unicron
That first option is what is on Thingiverse. I've printed out the parts and have the switch and light but there's no mention on what wires and how to put it together properly and I'm not very knowledgeable about those sort of things. I tried to ask the guy who did it for help but he's not being responsive and I'm almost pretty sure he's in here too but it's what it is. The stuff I ordered to do it, my partner was able to use for Christmas presents so luckily it wasn't a total waste of my money. I guess I'll have to look into the second option. Thanks everyone!
The Etsy one I got was already wired but if I remember rightly, two button batteries sit in the switch housing, then its just two wires from the switch to the led ends. It's worth a go if you've already got the bits. The SWLab option does look like its just a case of pop in the batteries and go.
Thanks, I just went ahead and ordered the shockwave lab kit! While I was at it, I got the light for the planet mode as well.. why not? lol! Now it's just a matter of waiting for it to arrive.
Getting the internal kt to separate them was the best decision on this guy I need to paint the wing tips and the chest to match the cream of the face and planet north and south poles instead of that ugly non toon silver plus hitting him with the matte cote spray
Hello all! I'm looking for someone that could print me a copy of Trunkkey's Unicron Maw Vaneer in appropriate colors. I'll pay. If you can help me out please PM me so we can discuss particulars. Trunkkey has been kind enough to make it available for us. This is a great community. Thank you all.
I think I'm finally "done" with Unicron mods planet separation kit by MadPropps Studio Cell double wings with pointy wing tips painted north and south poles, face, chest and skirt to warm gray from silver painted the maw totally orange planet mode panel lined and full matte cote
What's everyone doing with all the little guys from the accessory pack? I've got a total of 16 little robots and only 15 holes in the Unicron head stand piece. Just looking for ideas really. Sorry if this has been asked previously.
