Excellent write up and shots!
Depicting the blue maw
Someone on the board made a 3D-printed piece for this. Can't find the thread right now.
Heavy/Scratch: - Haslab Unicron 3D upgrade kit
Awesome, and at a great price. Much appreciated!
I think WFC is in 1:35 scale which I suppose means that 35 Unicrons would make the real thing, which would be bigger than Earth. Maybe the size of a medium sized island?
399 mm for the globe.
35 times that, 13,965 mm.
Divided by ten, 1,396.5 cm.
Divided by 2.54, ~550 inches.
Divided by 12, ~46 feet.
I think I remember seeing something that unicron was supposed to be twice the size of one of the biggest planet in our solar system correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not very sure
Ok I found something on it
The comment quoted was entertaining the idea that the toy Unicron was literally a 1:35 scale representation of what the real character would be based on the rest of the line not an independent figure set entirely outside the scale of every other transformer toy out there.
Or at least that's the way I read it.
However, of the intent is to scale a Unicron of movie dimensions down to 1:35, that's easy too. Wikipedia offers a 1000 km diameter for the original movie character. So, a 1:35 toy would have 28.6 km diameter in planetoid form.
Kapow's stock now due in on Friday, not tomorrow, according to their news page. Looks like it's at least a week until it's in hand
oh my mistake
Carry on carry on
No, you may be right. Following the string back to the source comment, it appears that the intent was to scale an actual Unicron down to match a mainstream toy "scale".
so Cartoon Unicron is a dwarf planet
Yeah, I was thinking of what size Unicron would have to be to have the same 1:35 relation that other figures have. 1:35 of a car is no big deal, but a planet is another story. So it makes sense that Unicron can never really fit into that scale because it'd just be too big.
Judging by the stitching...Is that Cyclonus and Scourge in a Unicorn costume?
Scourge, else there would have been two horns
Anyone have any recommendations for some 3D printer PLA filament that'll match Unicron?
Separate names with a comma.
