Perhaps the issue is the purchase through a third party rather than Haslab itself? Regardless I would hope haslab would make it right

I was just about to mention this.

If you look closer at the larger image, you see cardboard tubing on the ends of each wings. In all of the unboxing videos posted so far, none of the wings feature these cardboard tips. This Unicron was likely secondhand. It’s anyone’s guess whether the damage is on Hasbro or not.

Also hi all! I’ve been following this thread for a while but this is my first time posting. Figured it was worth speaking out about.

EDIT: whoops! Disregard. I did find a video with the cardboard on the wings. I’m done defending this thing lol

Let's not get all MP-44 Manhandling lol
Pretty sure they chucked the thing outta the box and saying "it came broke" like most of the "QC Issues"

If there is no cupboard tip, it is even more concerning given that the material seems to be brittle. The chances of damage during shipment will increase.

I’m not sure what’s stressing me out more now:

    A. Whether my Unicron, one of the small comforts that motivated me through 2020, has a major QC issue

    B. Where I’m gonna store this beast.

    Cannot wait till March.

    Mine had cardboard tips FYI.

Also, I call these “Teenage Unicron’s first eruption” or, alternatively, “I shouldn’t have watched those naughty videos on Dad’s computer”

I'm sorry, but retail level is exactly what we all should have expected. A) It's specifically branded a WfC figure. B) MP-44 was $450. Expecting MP deco on a figure 3 times as tall for only about 20% more is ridiculous.

Hmmm, If you have to remove all the planet mode parts to make it look "ok" then it is a $600 fail.

It would have been better to buy an statue or an action master.

They can pull that stuff when they need to get on a Toy R Us shelf at a certain price. This is outside the constraint of retail budgets.

Something crowd-funded and billed as a once in a lifetime dream product shouldn't have that kind of leeway. At the very least it should be addressed in an update.

All the hidden costs or hiccups should have been worked out before they even reveal the prototype. They knew what it cost to produce, why the cost cutting measure?

Furthermore, your are talking about color choices that are pretty integral to the character model. Which were on the prototype they sold to backers. I would have pulled back on the light blue and silver paint apps in spots before I'm messing up the yellow maw.

Dang the eyes can fit blast effects, this means Eye Beams Blast Effects by a 3rd party might be worthwhile.

I never really cared about the hollow wings but man, now I see how it creates some potential breakage points where it gets really thin. Time to starting praying to the shipping Gods.

I'm surprised they shipped those wings assembled. Probably would have been smarter break those down to ship in a safer way?

Maybe make them simple mushroom peg assemble?

The more I read about this, the more I see that there are more sad people than happy people for this. Is it really that bad?
