I do agree with this, and have seen solid examples of polite letters that don't hold back on the concerns, yet keep the tone appropriate.

And for the record, I really don't feel the robot mode looks any better overall. Now you've got overly simplified looking legs with large protrusions that have no reason being there.

I honestly feel it looks just as bad now as it did before.

The back looks really bad now, worse than before.

That said, the fact you have to remove it's planet mode to make it look good makes me feel even more like I made the right call by by-passing this thing. I'm sorry but...wow...at least I don't have to disassemble my Platinum edition to get a decent robot mode...

I feel neither way looks better than the other. It's just now he doesn't look anywhere near as intimidating as he did before. Just my own observation of course.

But like I said, Hey, it's his toy, who are we to ruin his happiness. if he prefers it. more power to him.

Are you able to tell, without disassembly of course, whether the controversial blue part is a single part that includes the central circle?

I'm interested to know whether that is a single complicated piece that is interlinked with the gears and teeth, or if the really controversial part is a separate piece that could be swapped out with some further unscrewing.

Are you able to work it out by looking at it? Or could you post pictures up close? The only picture thus far has been attached to the body, so it's not obvious to those who haven't had chance to handle it yet.

You don't have to disassemble the Haslab one to get a decent robot mode either

 

He said he removed like 5 screws, it can be put back together, and as soon as he took it out of the box he could never have resold it as "brand new" again. Used is used.

I know the number of in-hand units is pretty low at this point, but has there been any reports of a single QC issue so far? Assembly issues, stress marks, missing parts... anything?

 

It's confirmed as not possible anymore. Not only am I, like, 90% certain Hasbro confirmed they dropped it, but you can tell just from watching transformation videos that it can't do some of those things it would need to do in that pic to make that mode.

 

I've been thinking a lot about this figure over the last week or so, but something really hit me this morning.

As a kid a bunch of these, held together with a few plates and bricks, was my Autobot Shuttle.



And this, much to my mother's annoyance, was my Unicron.



Looking back at these things just makes me all the more excited for this guy's arrival. Is he 100% perfect in every conceivable way? Nope. Do I think he's going to also be exactly what I've always dreamed of? Yes, yes I do. Even holding a Micro Machine sized shuttle is going to be an experience nearly 30 years in the making. I'm just really excited and really happy that I was able to be a backer on this.

 

Nothing about that pic is possible. Literally nothing. Even laying it down on its back and doing snowangels isn’t close. It was a scrapped design.
