I will never understand what the sourpuss, poopy pants folks think they\'re achieving by dumping on this? 
If you didn\'t back it or snag it from the excess, marked up 3rd party resellers (like TFSource), then it\'s scalpers-only. I get being bitter about that. Considering how high markups have been on King Poseidon, I\'d be disappointed by missing out, too. 
But I backed it because I chose to, just like most others. So what do these grouches mean to accomplish by dogging on anyone who backed it and will receive it? Do they think we\'re going to read those comments and suddenly think \"oh, no! I\'m going to grumble about this because some stranger on the internet thinks my purchase doesn\'t make me happy!\"
I\'ve waited eagerly for this since the close of the crowdfunding. I\'ve endured a hell of a year between world events and work. 
When this centerpiece of my collection arrives, I will unbox and display it proudly, and no volume of \"lol shellformer!\" or any other comments will change that. 

 

I can't wait for this to arrive. This is going to look amazing on display with my other Transformers.

I'm happy for those who bought him but man does this figure look terrible.   Core Star is definitely better overall. I'm also not too keen on how defensive / hostile people get when they see any criticism (valid or otherwise) tossed at this figure. Like we get it, you dropped half a thousand bucks on a toy and it has to be good or else you wasted your money.

I think someone is giving Metroplex and Fortress Maximus a run for their money, and titles. So far I think Unicron as won biggest box ever. He might have just won Biggest and Tallest.

 

There are ebay sellers offering their preorders for $1100-1500 regularly. I'm not sure why you think the value is going to keep increasing?

 

Because it's not out yet, and people haven't seen it in hand. Once it's in hand, people are going to be wishing they paid the early-late tax, like always. When people see it actually out and in collector's hands, they typically want it more than just early prototypes and production images. It's been that way for years.

 

As someone who preordered this, I think your criticisms are valid. He's definitely far from perfect. I acknowledge his flaws, but what made me go for this option is the sheer size. The 3rd party offerings are very clean looking but way too small for what I'd want as my quintessential Unicron. As a planet bot, he should be bigger than all the others. I also really like the surface detailing, moving parts, accessories, etc. They make up for the robot mode kibble in my eyes.

 

You're speaking only as someone who doesn't regret spending a mint on this figure, but what about the people who do regret after seeing Zeta's offering? I remember PrimeVSPrime expressing such sentiments while reviewing SC-01, and I'm betting many other supporters will be singing a different tune once they have HasLab's figure in hand. Denial can only last so long.....

You can't. Kapow were the formal HasLab partners. TFS-Express had it available too, I assume on the 3P resale market.

There won't be restocking. There are a set number being made. They are being made to order, orders made by backers. Those backers were individuals and some 3P resellers.

So, once it's released you'll see a bunch of retailers selling it for markup. $700 or so US, £750 at least in the UK (backing it was $575 and £605 at the time). You'll see inevitable eBay sellers at a grand.

But the people who do regret backing this after seeing Zeta’s offering can just choose to sell their pre-order on to someone else, so I’m not seeing this as an issue? I mean there’s someone literally the post after you asking for how to order this, you could tap out now and make a profit then buy Zeta’s offering PLUS have change left over...
