The rings look fine to me but if a TF group I'm in is anything to go by, the upgrade kit for ROTF Satellite Soundwave is pointless since only 1 of a good 80 people in there got the figure.
I'd say there's a big enough want for upgrades, it could always just be minifig type stuff like Galvatron's ship, Quintesson's ship, and even Eye Blast Effects.

the pool of owners who dropped big coin on this is more than enough to warrant 3p upgrades. i am sure DNA is just chomping at the bit to do the hands and other shit

 

i dont see why the hands need to be changed, they look great

 

the hands are ok and definitely serviceable for what we get. but a better articulated non hollow set that allows the fingers to actually splay would be a much nicer option. it gives you more gripping options other than kung fu basically and you can rock jazz hands if ya want.

 

Everyone was saying this to me when all the articulation on the hands was knuckles and a pointer finger, and then towards the end we got fully articulated hands and everyone seemed to like them. Just a funny thing I remember. But yeah, at this point I think they'll be fine as long as they stay silver as advertized.

 

Their previous update had it very near a pretty good orange. Some of it was almost just right, some of it was too orange. I did think the original prototype was a bit too yellow. Some trend between orange and yellow sounds excellent. If we end up with something so orange it looks like that old super saturated toy I'm going to sudoku.

Having sold off my entire collection last year and just recently buying Core Star, all I can think of looking at how big he is in his own right is, "HOLY SHIT. Haslab Unicron is gonna be how much bigger than this thing again?" No joke, as a standalone piece Core Star looks HUGE, but Haslab is gonna completely dwarf him right? WOW.
