This will be a nice spring treat to look forward to through the winter
Watch them throw another Unicron out there now that they're doing '86 studio series figures...
In all seriousness though while I couldn't ever complete a WFC trilogy collection, pairing up Unicron with a full set of future studio series '86 figures seems super doable and cool.
The SS86 figures are in the WfC style, as is Unicron.
Releasing a SS86 line to coincide with their Unicron is just brilliance! It lets us set up an entire ‘86 movie display, and that’s after they’ve already been killing it with WFC in the last couple years.
How do you figure that? They aren't covered in pegs for blast effects.
They share the same general design goals: Accuracy to the source material and scaled with each other (which scales to the rest of WfC). The blast effects pegs are irrelevant.
I thought my second paragraph was enough of a contextual clue that I wasn't being serious in my first sentence but I guess I should have added an /s. My mistake.
Said it before, I'll say it again: I'd buy a Titan Unicron head. He can triple change into a playset and a tank.
Hey, could someone digibash some of the early crowdfunding pictures with the shade of orange used in update 3?
Just curious, does Haslab Charge you upfront for your funding???
Yes and no. They charge the day (or close to it) that the campaign gets fully funded
Someone's after HeroQuest
Nah, Never heard of Heroquest till today, I blame @Pixelmaster
Ark? Perhaps it's not in WFC mainline...
Iirc, one of the leakers said the Ark "was its own thing". At first I thought it was something like AUOP that doesn't have ER branding on its packaging, but Haslab seems like another possibility.
Damn, I was hoping Primus would be next. Regardless I'm not getting the Ark since I don't want it, but if it is a Haslab project it will be interesting to watch if nothing else.
This is what I was guessing the third line would be after learning of earthrise and the announcement of unicron. Never imaged it would be Beast Wars mostly with them utilizing the movie line for some of the G1. Funny enough others like Galvatron and Cyclonus are back in kingdom while others like Scourge in studio series.
It's just like 2011's Reveal the Shield running parallel with Generations.
You've got Cyclonus in Reveal the Shield (in the Battle in Space 2-pack), but Scourge in Generations.
Turbo Tracks is in Reveal the Shield, but his retool/redeco Wheeljack is in Generations.
It's no problem if you are happy to mix and match different aesthetically matching lines to build your cast, but many Transformers fans are insistent that product line divisions need to be upheld. Generations go with Generations, Prime Wars go with Prime Wars, War for Cybertron Trilogy with War for Cybertron Trilogy.
I don't know how they'll cope with having to mix Kingdom toys with Studio Series '86 toys.
I'm guessing the third part of the Netflix show will be the movie g1 characters and beast wars characters teaming up to fight Unicron. That is honestly the most epic scenario of Transformers ever combining the two most legendary periods of G1 and Beast Wars.
The only thing that worries me is the Netflix show was average and felt like a skirmish between two small teams rather than an actual war on Cybertron and was too short. I think it won't be enough and unicron will be defeated way too fast.
