Yeah if I was an ML collector I'd probably be in for at least two Sentinels, maybe push it to three. I know some people collect multiple TFs to display one in each mode, but I'd say troop-builders out-number them.

That and marvel figures majority are only 20 bucks a pop, unlike TF with the variety that it has on it's different classes... :)

Wow this was fast. Then again, Unicron was 600$ and needed 2000 more backers by default. But this also shows Marvel fans are far more numerous than us. Also given how Sentinels are usually deployed in troops, I bet many fans ordered two or more.
I do find it odd how few pics or making of stuff they shared. Maybe that comes later.

True, they have it easy - apart from having to buy full waves for the Build-a-figure.
But then again, most franchises have main characters who are humans or humanoids and of that size, so their toys are the same size too.

When was Unicron 700$? Even with the added tax he was just 600$.

It also doesn’t have to transform to a giant death planet... and is smaller.

While a little higher than $600 very much less than $700, agreed.

One thing I'll say about Sentinel: The advance discussion of backer tiers at certain numbers is likely a new idea.

They *kinda* did that with Unicron. Dropping updates to sweeten the pot. But it was sorta slapshot.

Having a clear goal each step may have been a take away. Though something like Sentinel lends itself better to that than Unicron did.

Kickstarters have been doing that for YEARS.

Though they usually reveal the first set of tiers all at once. Not this one at a time nonsense. We're already a quarter through the next tier. If Hasbro doesn't get moving, they may reveal what the 8,000 backer 'incentive' is after it's already reached 8,000 backers.

This isn't the same as a Kickstarter, though. You either buy the end product or you don't. There's no "donation tiers" so there's no incentive to pitch in even if you don't want the final product.

No intention to “cape,” but aren’t Sentinels glorified drone pieces, no matter the size?? Unicron (for me at least) is a grail figure par excellence, this seems like apples to oranges on steroids but maybe I’m mistaken in some of my initial assumptions

The bigger deal is it's a Sentinel scale to the Marvel Legends series.

Like, both Marvel and TF have had figures of Sentinel/Unicron, but never to this extent.

wouldn’t Apocalypse define/wreck their scale by definition? And to think we in TF-land bitch about scale and such :)

Thought about that, but then thought about Hot Toys. If Marvel fans want to get deep, they are as F'd (if not more so) as we are.

Yeah but Marvel has pretty set restrictions on character appearance.
Sentinels are always to be a good 3 floors tall and fit standard height people like wolverine in their hand. The biggest figure of a Sentinel produced was the one they show the new one compared to it.

I'd say they deserve the in-scale Sentinel but for us TF Fans it's half a figure since it doesn't transform lol.

I’m going to admit that this is super petty, but who else is glad that the Haslab Unicron is taller than the Haslab Sentinel? :p

You’re wrong about that, it does Transform.

It transforms mutants into ash, not the same thing of course but that’s still turning one thing into something else!

    Barely! Lol
Even changing the head out for Mastermold is giving the figure a little bit more height. But honestly the Unicron beats in height because of his horns. I wish they would’ve made that Unicron a 30 inch figure or fix on his being small(his looks kindve small compare to the body).

But some ppl are right in here, the fact that Sentinel is a army builder is help backing the figure up. But damn it’s already hitting 8000 backers by tomorrow!!!

This is one of the first things I checked when I saw the Sentinel...but if I recall correctly Unicron is "only" 25 inches excluding the horns, so who is taller depends on how you measure them. And actually, if the Cookie monster was made, it would have been a no contest since it was over a meter tall...
What I like from the Sentinel are the splaying fingers and the double jointed knees/elbows (though I'm not sure if that gives him more articulation range compared to Unicron). For Unicron, I always thought that they splaying fingers were a missing opportunity when they redesigned the hands. I used to complain a bit about the single jointed elbow, but after some thinking I came to the conclusion that it would have been difficult to give him a double joint given the way the forearms slide for transformation.

    Unicron is 27 inches
    The Sentinel is 26 inches

Both figures are probably eye to eye in height

Wasn’t unicron said to be over 27” meaning they counted the horns as extra?
