That’s cool. Glad I don’t have to wait 20 years to get mine.
Because guessing what will be popular/rare and won’t be has always been accurately guessed.....
I kind of want to sell mine now
...you and me both, along with another eleven thousand or so collectors...
That’s assuming you accurately predict the market in over a year and that’s also assuming that not enough people will exist that like unicron to buy this. I would have said the same for the sail barge but look where that ended up. It’s surprising how many people can want something that’s niche. Also, as all limited production runs, it’s still going to be considered rare, because only a certain amount is produced, unlike all other TF’s that have tens of thousands made weekly.
Sail barge has the benefit that there has never been a sail barge toy. It's quite literally the first for SW fans ever, whole there has been multiple Unicrons of different kinds.
there were sail barge toys prior to the haslab one, just not ones scaled to any figures.
Kinda like this unicron I guess? I mean we have a few unicrons but they are hardly anything compared to the two we’ve seen this year.
...my extensive micro collection and action fleet beg to differ...
(star wars was doing the legends-scale thing decades before it was cool)
Wasn’t sure if there were mini figs for that one
Flipping one of mine the moment it arrives
Won't that damage the box?
Yeah, this is a fairly low run for a retail figure, but it's several times less rare than, say, any BotCon exclusive ever made.
You mean ever RECOLORED?
They’re not all repainted, some got new heads and Oilmaster was a brand new Pretender shell.
None of which has any bearing on their being far more rare than Unicron.
...and most TT-mall exclusives and third-party offerings, too, whether licensed or unlicensed...
(Although I wouldn't really expect third-party or unlicensed toys to be held to similar standards for rarity. If I create a 3D-printed transforming robot right this minute, it will be, by definition, the rarest possible item, being one-of-a-kind. But I wouldn't expect anyone else to care.)
