And it took only 6 months for them to finally give us that total.

Just a little over a year to go!....wonder if they will provide the haslab backers any periodic updates on production/etc.

It's the new standard for future crowd funded campaigns in this demo and category.

...at twelve-thousand-plus pieces, unicron is not going to be a rare piece, ever...expensive, yes; large, yes; and by association a flagship in many folks' collections, which may limit his initial availability on the secondary market, depending upon how many folks bought spares to resell...

...long-term?..he was sold to a limited audience which isn't significantly growing and whose median age grows older each year; i expect in a decade or two supply will significantly outpace demand and everybody who really wants one will be able to readily find and afford it...

No it didn't. The total looked liked that within a ~week of the crowdfund closing.

No. After the campaign ended, it said 8000+. And for a few hours it might’ve said 11000ish maybe , but it stayed at 8000+ until recently. I can pull up pics if you want.

Maybe it was via the page source code and the percentage counter then, but either way, the information isn't new. I swear the counter itself was updated to say 12,000+ a long time ago, though.

This is what the page looks like after the campaign ended. By looking at the stats in the page code, fellow TFW members were able to see that we were possibly in the 11,000 ball park. So we all had the impression that might’ve been the true number. The actual Pulse site remained at 8000+ up until recently. It took about that long just to have Hasbro revise and update the 12000+ number. You can go back and read the events of the campaign and the aftermath on this thread, we’ll see I was here posting every night.

fwiw, the counter total was modified several times as to what was displayed after the campaign ended.

The earliest mention of the page displaying 12000+ was in late October.
I think at some point it changed to 8000+ and then changed to 12000+ again in early December...

That’s assuming you accurately predict the market in over a year and that’s also assuming that not enough people will exist that like unicron to buy this. I would have said the same for the sail barge but look where that ended up. It’s surprising how many people can want something that’s niche. Also, as all limited production runs, it’s still going to be considered rare, because only a certain amount is produced, unlike all other TF’s that have tens of thousands made weekly.
