I believe so!
Or run over by a car. Where have I seen that before.
I'm glad they didn't persevere with the city mode. The added complexity would make the two main modes less aesthetically appealing, and it's just adding a playability factor for the sake of it.
It's not accurate to the source material, and let's face it - who's actually going to be playing with such an expensive and heavy figure to the extent that playability extras are paramount?
All the current extras are clearly aimed at display rather than play. This really isn't a toy, it's a display piece
Any pictures? Scans of the book? Some of us would like to see new images.
Absolutely. I’m wondering if this figure was originally planned as a regular Titan class and at some point in development they decided to switch it to a Haslab collector oriented project?
Had a bad dream that hasbro and takaratomy just cancelled unicron and refunded everyone without a notice or reason
...not gonna lie, at the end of the day 600 bucks going back into my account wouldn't be a bad thing.
It would be for me, I want unicron

Aside from the design change, these dudes are even smaller than before, no?
I was an early backer for the project and I’ve since tried to stop daydreaming about it. It’s super nice when a piece of new information comes up and reminds me of good stuff coming a year and a half from now.
So am I the only one who is bummed that the city mode won’t be there? Mostly, I appreciate the extra details like the brain and innards being present, even if I wouldn’t necessarily use this mode.
City mode would have been nice...
City mode would have made it kinda cool and be the largest triple changer ever (unless I am mistaken). The idea of a city mode could have been incorporated into a comic as well. When I was younger, I thought it would have been cool if Unicron was not one being but multiple beings that could combine into one planet mode character. The ultimate combiner
...i see 'city mode' less as a city and more as a playset representing vignettes from unicron's body-landscape, and yeah, i think that's an incredibly cool idea...
...could've looked fantastic coupled with takara's old 2010 unicron hovering aside in planet mode, let alone a second haslab unicron for the deeper-pocketed among us...
I've already come to terms with parting with $600, so if it gets canceled, I'll probably just treat myself to a new pair of Jordans or something
it would have fit in nicely with the city-accessory product we're getting in the next year, but other than adding a few ramps to a splayed-out Unicron corpse you do have to squint to get city vibe
is it just me or is “city mode” from a planet.... just a flat planet that’s going to please all those in the flat earth society? doesn’t make sense for a planet to have a city mode, unless you’re solely looking at it from a toy perspective. and i’m not sure if “let’s lay him out flat on the table mid-transformation” qualifies as a city mode lol.
I’m really happy these got updated to better resemble their G1 selves. Now I can only hope they’ll add Galvatron’s ship, a Quintesson ship, and the Junkion ship in that order of priority.
