Yes, we’ve always known that.
Honestly, its just a freebie so I understand where complaining is a bit silly, but it does seem like a shame that they couldnt just package a reprint of a hard copy of the comic for those of you that supported this project. I cant imagine that it would have costed them that much to provide something like that but again, its just a bonus freebie so ehhh.
That 575 is already breaking the bank, if they included one more physical item they'd have put it up to $10,000!
the app has a pop up when saving that says there is some sort of legal trouble with distributing it to anyone but yourself, so I would advise against it. (also apparently copies you make will have a watermark leading back to your account)
Edit* As others have said, it's probably best to PM it.
I'd take a copy in a pm... I'd never share it
Probably not a good idea to share in the forum but if you were to make copies, pm people who want them and get their email addresses to send them to them.
i dont see any problem with that. i mean you paid almost 600 for it just like i did. we should be able to do what we want with it.
I mean... when you get into legality.....sort of like a $60 game now, your paying for the license to play it, and the game company can do whatever it wants to the game without issue. But if you do something with that game, that company is coming for ya and it has an agreement that says it’s ok. Amazon doesn’t want people sharing these things freely, so they leave watermarks that lead back to you. I’d just do the pm method.
but this isnt a game and i am not playing it or licensing it.
this is no different than if i bought the paper comic and let people i know read it. that is how i look at it. trades get passed around all the time. it is just par for the course when it comes to comics.
but honestly we can stop talking about this. it is online and has been online for those who want to find it.
there is nothing new here and nothing that isnt readily accessible for those who want to read it. there are plenty of comic book sites online and i am sure almost everyone knows how to search them.
Sure, but this is digital, and the only way to access it is using comiXology. The last thing they want is for people to share entire comic books around instead of buying them or using their site. In the digital age you don’t Really own what you buy unless it’s a physical item.
Could someone PM me the whole Unicron? The only issue might be file size
You can make a backup through ComiXology to protect yourself from Amazon not being around next week...
Already took care of that for em
I'm sure there are free files for this comic floating around on the internet
Ditto. Kind of shitty that non-US buyers (and 3P sites) don't seem to be getting the codes. Which is ironic because I suspect that without affiliates and 3P this whole shindig wouldn't be happening!
I didn't even bother to see who owns Comixology because that is how little I care about it. I keep nothing "in the cloud" because there are no guarantees it will be there tomorrow. I store everything locally.
Fellas, you're causing yourself a whole lot of unnecessary grief wanting this comic. Do an online search for panels from the IDW adaptation. You'll find results like this:
At best, the comic is an abridged version of the movie or some kinda poorly focused CliffsNotes.
Just go watch the movie again. You'll get the bonus of entire scenes, complete dialogue and the soundtrack. The digital access to the comic is "nice free pack-in" but they haven't put any effort into making it better than it was years ago. Besides, you bought Unicron for Unicron not some digital reprint of a comic with a new "cover".
I mean, unless you're looking to validate FT Arcee's trunk.
I so literally couldn't give a shit about some IDW trash that I just straight up deleted the email when I got it. I don't need some retelling from some publisher I strongly dislike. I'll just rewatch the movie.
We get it, you hate IDW.
I do find it funny that they include a reprint (I guess) of a comic where the character you just spend $600 on dies at the end
